BUt you're being disingenuous when you ask how this ONE incident is going to change the entire country. It's not. And you knew it when you asked the question.

I asked how do you capitalize on this single act. At no point did I say or even imply that this "ONE incident is going to change the entire country." I asked what is the next step now that a violent act of this magnitude has occurred.

Answers can range from:

1. Commit more acts just like this

2. Unify to create larger scale violent acts

3. Stop committing acts like this

4. Commit different acts of the same magnitude

5. etc etc

I previously made a thread asking if violence was the answer and said I didn't know if it was or wasn't (and I still do not know). Now that something this serious has happened I'd like to see what people think the next step should be if violence is in fact the answer.

When that house nigger mentality changes so will the relationship between blacks and cops. Until then one guy killing two cops aint gonna do shit. There isn't going to be any capitalization on this. Just pigs saying, "see! we have dangerous jobs you just dont understand!"

@DarcSkies how so? How does altering the mentality of black people change the mentality (obviously biased) cops have towards them?

Good question actually:

1.
The bias isn't the problem. It's the lack of consequences when that bias turns to murder that is concerning to most.

2.Cops attack black people because they know they will get away with it. They know there will be no consequences. Historically people (especially whites) have only changed their behavior based on 3 things:

LOSS OF MONEY, LOSS OF LIFE, LOSS OF POWER...

That's it. You're not going to get a white man to do anything differently for some silly reason like, "it's immoral" or "inhumane."

3. If you knew there would be consequences if you beat/killed a black man you might try to put on a brave face at first. But you're gonna get sick of getting shot at. You're gonna get sick of every time you pull a suspect over there are 10 armed black men from the local Neighborhood watch standing a few feet away with guns just waiting for you to do something you're not supposed to do.

It's all about consequences. And since the government is pro-cop and anti-black the consequences aren't going to come from the gov't it's going to come from us. Once they know the community is together and not just as long as the protests last the whole game changes.

Police aren't going to do anything more then they have already been doing

That's not true. That's really just not true.

What are they going to do then ??? Violate the law more than they already do. Give the community more reason to hate them.

I'm just saying. I'm more of a numbers person. From my experience, when a police officer is killed...not even killed in this fashion where the shooter allegedly openly declares that this is retaliatory...just when a police officer is killed period...there is typically an influx of citizens killed by police several weeks and up to months following. There is a direct correlation.

Show me the numbers

I can't speak to anywhere else. I live in Chicago. I think it's easy for people to assume that incidents like this will go without consequence because we frame our understanding of police-involved issues within a national context, which makes sense because this problem is widespread throughout the US. But locally, is where they will feel it and I would not want to be anywhere near Brooklyn at this time with that kind of climate. I would implore you to choose any major city and look at the numbers yourself (The officer down memorial webpage keeps track every officer killed in the line of duty). When something like this happens, there is this huge hike in the killing of citizens by police. Not only that, but there is a huge hike in officers discharging their firearms, as well as shootings that do not necessarily result in death or serious injury (which obviously is something that municipalities keep a tight hold on as far as numbers are concerned.) I have to sit in roll call every time I report to work, and I assure you that when an officer is killed, the temperament is essentially an implicit pep rally encouraging cops to "do whatever you gotta do, but just live to tell the story." Or my personal favorite for those who find themselves in a position to have shoot someone (unarmed), never ever ever change your story. Pick one and stick to it. Deny everything, admit nothing, demand proof, and file counter charges. The people in that community, will feel it.

But the shooter bodied himself. Huh? Smh.

If true....As fucked as it sounds, good. He can't be prosecuted. He took his destiny into his own hands.

This is why I said previously they'll push ppl to become suicide bombers eventually.

He also won't have to answer to anyone about shooting his girlfriend (not affiliated with the NYPD or any other PD that we are aware of right now) prior to either.

Well I guess he figured if he fucked up by shooting her (for whatever reason), he may as well go out with what he thought was a purpose (shooting them).

When you served yourself lemons, may as well make lemonade.

You dont capitalize. He's an idiot LOL If anything the cops are gonna get what they want out of this. Sympathy. It cant just be ONE incident.

It has to be a new mentality. Unfortunatly it wont happen cuz if you'd look at many of the reactions in this thread black people have a certain affinity for the organizations that oppress them. Just look at the clown that responded to me.

"Boo Hoo these are two people erased from the planet" or whatever bullshit he spewed.

have you ever in your life heard a pig show any sign of remorse for any black people murdered by a cop? No you haven't. They all say, "it's a tragedy but he shouldnt have *place lie/fabrication/bullshit excuse here*

BUt black people in here butt hurt than muthafukka over two dead muthafukkas who would have put a bullet in their fucking brain in a split second and got on the phone and called their Union rep before they dreamed of calling EMS.

You haven't intelligently stated to anyone in this thread what random killings does to help the cause?

Not even going to read the rest after this dumbass comment.

I haven't described the deaths of those two wastes of space as either good nor bad. Just like I dont comment on a dead roach on the side of the road.

im not happy their dead. I'm not upset that they're dead. They're just fucking dead. And not once have I said differently.

And you still haven't told me your race. But it's clear at this point. Only whites get this up in arms about black people not crying and wailing over their oppressor.

The following post was released on the NYC Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association Facebook page.

FROM NYC PBA:

Starting IMMEDIATELY- At least two units are to respond to EVERY call, no matter the condition or severity, no matter what type of job is pending, or what the opinion of the patrol supervisor happens to be. IN ADDITION: Absolutely NO enforcement action in the form of arrests and or summonses is to be taken unless absolutely necessary and an individual MUST be placed under arrest. These are precautions that were taken in the 1970’s when Police Officers were ambushed and executed on a regular basis. The mayors hands are literally dripping with our blood because of his words actions and policies and we have, for the first time in a number of years, become a “wartime” police department. We will act accordingly. FORWARD MESSAGE IN ITS ENTIRETY TO ANY AND ALL MOS
