LOL, someone will outdo Pac one day.

Probably when we're dead.

You can't make a bold claim like this.

That's like saying No one will be better than Mike Jordan.

your stupidity know no limits, Michael Jackson is the greatest entertainer and will be until he's knock off, until somebody come along and pass the heights that they reached.......

Now did I said he's the greatest hip-hop artist ever?????? how about you sit in the corner and think bout that shit, you sounding like a girl right now...

It's the circle of life.

Someone will come take that away from him

If Hip Hop is around.

Disagree completely and he was only talented with music. His poems were overrated and his acting was mediocre. Nigga played himself. LL, and Will Smith were better actors when Pac was alive and so was Ice-T. Musically his catalogs were weak other than MATW and 7 Day Theory. He did not make any music different from most other artists and did the same get money, gang bangin, thuggin music that was popular at the time. People seem to forget that he had to sellout to sell records doing songs with Jodeci and other RnB shit lol. A great artist, but far from the greatest. Jay,Nas,Cube,Rakim,G-Rap,KRS and collectively the Wu >>>> 2pac. Shit even DMX in his Prime was better as an emcee and artist.You can throw Guru in there two as his catalog is far better, but I will let the dickriding continue as people cannot take a different opinion on Pac. Common is on the list as well.

I think producers that rap should get more artistic credit than those who just rap - solely for the fact that they are responsible for the entire painting - not just the outlines.

That being said... i might have to give this to RZA

LOL, it would be nice to see another rapper leave as big of an impact as Tupac. Until then, I think it's safe to his place in hip hop is pretty much guaranteed. The fact that you're even using Pac as the benchmark for everyone after him says a lot about how much of an impact he's had already.

But while we're on the topic of artistic achievements, I think we ought to give other artists their due, especially the producers. How about RZA?

Having grown up watching classic martial arts movies, RZA helped to expand the sonic palette of hip hop. He drew upon a broad array of musical influences (including samples from Kung-Fu flicks) to create soundscapes of cinematic quality. He evolved that vision through music videos, got deeper into Hollywood through acting, and fell under the guidance of filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino and Eli Roth. Not to mention, he and his Wu-Tang collective pretty much created their own universe - replete with their own street science, mythology, slang, and teachings. Talk about artistic creation - that's probably the biggest and most unique of them all!

The man said better ARTIST not Rapper

What's the difference?

That's like saying Mariah Carey is not a singer she is an "artist"

An Artist knows how they want their music to sound they have a vision for their music and their subject matter,creativity and impact play a big role in being an artist

Singer = Great voice

Artist = overall package.

you can have the "overall package" and if you are a singer then you are a singer.

Some lack that vision and creativity

And to answer your question about Mariah she's one of the few women in music who actually write their own music. Look at all the hits she has that she wrote its her subject matter and creativity that made her a success

Whitney is great but she's just a singer never wrote anything

I like those definitions^^^^

Along those lines....

Rapper/Emcee = One who focuses on the techniques and craft of emceeing. A "rapper" deals with the technical aspects of emceeing - including diction, wordplay, flow, lyricism etc.....

Artist = A visionary whose concerns deal with creative expression. When we call a rapper an "artist", we are taking note not just of their rapping abilities, but the themes and messages present in their work. That's when we ask ourselves, What is he or she trying to convey in their music? What themes or images does he/she want to paint? Are they telling a story? Have they attempted to use other mediums or media to expand upon their own vision?
