Actually thats not the case cops aren't trained to shot to injure there trained to shoot to kill. Actually the whole law of self defense is based around to shoot to kill. Cause if u had time to think "imma shoot him in the leg" and aim at the leg then u also had time to get away.

Cops are thought to aim for center mass its the biggest part of your body and theres really not many places u can shoot a person where they wont die either from the bullet hitting something vital or simply bleeding out.

Its easier to say shot to injure than it is to actually do cuz to shot to injure u gotta aim and aiming takes time. A person whose 3 feet away can close on u with a knife quicker than u can aim and fire. An then ur dead or seriously injured. Plus tasers and pepper spray arent guaranteed stoppers. A guy in i think Florida was on bath salts took to close range shots from a shotgun with bean bags in it and still closed the distance and killed the cop so fck a taser gonna do?

we had something like this, where this high school kid pulled a knife out at school and turned it on one of the cops that showed up. another cop came and shot the knife outta the kids hand and "injured" him. mfs were still complaining

Pull a knife on me and your options become very slim. If he started rushing at them then the shooting is justified.

They'll keep shooting, center mass preferably, until you drop. Then they'll cuff, check for weapons, bark commands. Some will give medical aid. Some won't do shit and you'll just bleed out.
