On another note, I always thought this parody of Optimus Prime's revival was pretty funny.

@fresh I thought that astro train scene is what made that cartoon adult oriented and ahead of its time. Here u have a click fighting within a click battling for supremacy talkin about "i say its survival of the fittest" then gets rid of theyre leader like its nothing. But in retrospect to what u was saying I dont think astrotrain was being malicious in anyway towards megatron in particular, he was just looking out for the crew as a whole. With starscream it was more personal dude kicked him while he was down and talking ish, plus it was long overdue. As a kid I never seen these type of side storylines in a movie let alone a cartoon, freakin epic.

"what he say his name was?"
"Galvatron!"......lol it had dark humor and all, they just kept it movin

Man Soundwave stayed caping for Megatron. He was the one that carried him into Astrotrain in the movie to begin with.

SMH@ StarScream always copping a plea after he try to perform mutiny.

Nah, Soundwave didn't snitch.

First, Starscream was bitch for trying to shoot Megatron in the back after he was face to face with him putting his word in on why he should be leader. It was only right that someone said something once Starscream raised his cannon to fire. Then Megatron turned around, told that nigga Starscream he broke another rule and then shot him in the arm, face to face.

And by design, I believe Soundwave was 3rd in command anyway. I believe the chain of command was Megatron, Shockwave, then Soundwave. Starscream was smelling himself because he was a plane and went on the more dangerous missions. Soundwave was a spy, who gathered information for those missions to happen. Soundwave could blend into any environment and lead quietly, while Starscream simply wanted to cause havoc as his form of leadership and that's straight suicidal when you're at war. He doesn't even want to strategize his missions, he's like he knows where the Autobots are at, let's get them.

If you're familiar with Robotech the Macross Saga, Kyron has the same personality as Starscream. A young buck thinking he's ready to lead by charging straight forward into battle and defying orders from higher ranked leaders, and once he assumed some sort of leadership, he gets himself killed.

Nah, Man. Starscream was always 2nd in command. Megatron has said it himself repeatedly. The pecking order was: Megatron/Galvatron, Starscream, then Shockwave. I dunno why Megatron kept Starscream around when he knew Starscream was always plotting to commit mutiny. Maybe it was kinda the same way how Serpentor always kept Cobra Commander around: The HNIC needed a fallguy to blame whenever shit went awry. Who knows?

On another note: Bet u niggas didn't know that Frank Welker voiced a ton of Decepticons in the g1 show (Megatron, Soundwave, Skywarp, Rumble/Frenzy, Wheelie, Galvatron - post movie episodes - just to name a few).

good thread..this movie was the sh*t..not better then G.I.Joe the movie..but they(TFers) did have epic sh*t going on in this movie..and they had quotables for decades...

my fav. was megz transformation into galvation..when (leonard nimoy voice him) i was hooked and when he spit

"I will gut Ultra Magnus and every other autobot who stands in my way!!"

that ish was so ill to hear coming from a cartoon...

heat'd that they gave galvatron the old megatron voice in the cartoon series though

nigs didnt like the Rodimus character huh..i like'd him...i think he got the short end of the stick cuz of the popularity of opitmus....

He kept him around cause Starscream was the epitome of what a Decipticon should be. Ruthless, power hungry, and effective at his job, also it kept Megatron from getting to soft. You can't be the HNIC if you dont have someone coming for your neck 24/7 in the Decipticon mentality.

I think Shockwave was 2nd in command. That's why Megatron left him on Cybertron - he was left to run Cybertron while Megatron was on Earth. .

Firstly, any person who left a negative comment for this movie has something wrong with them, seriously. I have no idea when I saw this movie, but I was around 6-ish. I am now 22 and it's still a bloody awesome movie. I have always been a big fan Transformers, and I know I may seem a bit biased, but I own the movie on DVD and found a number of processors illiterate men and women, young and old and the only one I who got a little tired of these are my parents because they have seen as many times myself.

i gotta disagree wit the bolded. it's b/c of the death of optimus, is why they didin't kill duke. kids were so traumatized, and parents caused an uproar. so they didn't want the same thing to happen agian. that my friend is epic transformers the movie is. lol

I agree. Transformers was the better of the two films, BUT...u can't front on Nemesis Enforcer. I didn't like the plant/alien twist that went on in the GI Joe movie, but overall, it was ok.

As far as Rodimus, I always hated how they had him second guessing every move he made. They made that nigga go from the self assured and confident character we saw in the movie to a bumbling buffoon in the cartoon. They kinda did him almost as bad as they did Gohan after the Cell Games; straight bitched him out.

What REALLY pissed me off about the cartoon post-movie storyline, was: A) They brought back Starscream, but never used him again; B) They brought back Optimus, only to kill him off yet again (in the version that never aired in the US, but aired in Japan cuz the US version was cancelled); and C) It just seemed that the writers ran outta ideas on where to take the series once the movie was done and over with. Trust me...the Japanese version of Transformers after the US version got cancelled totally ruined the show.
