wow i have to fit Philyss Hyman in the line up some where. oh yea some of the best singers are apart of R&B groups and it was hard to seperate them from their groups but stars like Smokie, Diana, Phillip, & Ron are big enough in their own right to be recognised.

Philyss Hyman, Roberta Flack, Minnie Rippleton? or what about gospel artist Yolanda Adams? what about Babyface, D'Angelo, & Raphael Saddiqq?? also artist Like Janet, Beyonce, Aaliyah, & Usher would have made the list if we were talking about Black Singers in Pop music. This list is based on more soulful driven artist in the genre's of R&B, Gospel,, Reggae, & Funk. Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, etc. could be apart of both list.

Looks about right. Except for Maxwell being below A. Keys. Dont know how that happened.

Kusk De' Angelo? Really? Beyonce and Aaliyah? Usher maybe but Beyonce dont give a damn who she swining her weave for. She's not exactly a voice of the black people she's just an entertainer period.

as far as Bey, Usher, Janet, Aaliyah...i said that they WOULDNT make this list but maybe a list called like Top 50 Black Pop Singers. They arent soulful enough in my opinion to be considered some of the best voices in black music. as far as Black Pop songer, culture, and music go..they would mos def be top 50.
