Scottie Pippen actually was a more COMPLETE player than Jordan. Jordan was more athletic and a higher scorer. Pippen was better at everything else. Jordan needed Pippen just as much as Pippen needed Jordan. The Sonics trading Pippen for Polynice did more for Jordan's career than it did for Pippen's.

Edit: When I say it did more for Jordan's career than Pippen's I mean as an individual not team success.
