According to Rolling Stone, Live Nation has pulled the plug on 6 shows that were to take place at Irving Plaza or Gramercy Theatre this week, including performances by Mac Miller, Vince Staples, and YG.

Joey Bada$$, whose scheduled show at Irving on Saturday was also cancelled, tweeted that the NYPD were responsible, and while he later deleted his tweet, it seems that the police force are partially involved in the decision. "In light of last week's tragic event, we are acting with an overabundance of caution and coordinating a going forward strategy with the New York Police Department that may also include a curfew," a rep for the venues told Rolling Stone. "Because these discussions with New York Police Department are ongoing, we will be postponing a few of our upcoming shows."

It should be noted that while most of the concerts effected were rap shows, Guns N Roses cover band Appetite For Destruction and Canadian rock outfit Black Pistol Fire will also be unable to perform their scheduled gigs at the spaces, making for a total of six events postponed or cancelled. So far there is no word on when the dates will be made up, but the possibility that the artists will find other venues in the meantime remains open.
