so my take on feminism is this, feminism to me in its most basic form is to obtain social and political rights for women, and in that sense i am definitely a feminist. i believe women should have all the rights to own land, vote, get an education, etc just like men and any free human being should

the issue for me arises when the agenda makes it seem that for men and women to be equal, men and women must be the exact same. and society aside, our biology is not the same. one gender is more adept to certain task than another maybe. for example, due to our hunter-gatherer past, men evolved to be better navigating themselves on land in a time where things like compasses didn't exist, because knowing where you were going meant you were more likely to survive (and natural selection takes off from there), where as women had to be able to be more detail oriented, be able to look and spot out edible food for example

so we've evolved with a certain skill set in each gender. men tend to be larger, so they maybe more suited for being a firefighter lets say, is that sexist to say so? i say all that to say this. if a guy says make me a sandwich(not in a rude way), is that really sexism if a woman is better at making a sandwich? just like is it sexism when you ask your boyfriend to fix your car instead of your girlfriend, no because he is better at that specific task. and in the end we should be focusing on making sure both genders have the same rights, and portraying all men as evil and out to get women is not gonna help, we're doing to them what they did to us for ages, it wasn't right when they did it, nor is it when women do it

Men and Women are not set to be equal especially in the household.

The Man is the head of the household.....period. As a Wife you need to recognize that and submit accordingly (within reason)

Also, a lot of feminist look down on Women who choose to take domestic roles like being a full time Wife and Mother.

That is another reason I don't champion their cause.

Here's where we will have to disagree.

Feminists will tell you that along with the creation of patriarchy and male dominance, so did specific gender roles that women were supposed to fulfill in order to keep that new social order intact. They believe that biology is not destiny. They point to matriarchies and female dominated societies to show you that it hasn't always been the case where men have an edge over women just because of their physiology. I don't see the reason any reason that just because my biology is different than that of a man's, he has to assume dominance over me. Also, I attribute a lot of men being head of the household to religion, and I reject a lot of that.

I don't have a problem with a woman being a full time housewife, if that's their choice. I just think that capitalism and sexism screws them over when they don't get paid for it because it's labor.

The Man being dominate does mainly stem from religion and outdated gender roles but that doesn't mean it's not the way things should be.. We are created for him to lead, God created us that way for a reason.

I'm all about choices, I do not force my beliefs onto anyone else. I totally support a Woman's right to want her relationships however she chooses.

But ME, KIMI does not want a Man I can control or dominate, I am his Wife and his Woman. I follow his lead and trust him until he gives me a reason not to. I make the choice to work but I also do not slack off on my duties as his Wife when I'm home. I do not emasculate him and if he ask me to do something most times I will comply.

Also, a Woman staying home and raising her family is also about choice, feminism should be about choice.

So I think it's wrong to preach feminism and then condemn a Woman for not following the path you take.

A feminist can be a CEO of a major corporation or a housewife raising kids. Most feminist I know look down on Women who don't make the choices they make.

Meh. Religion is just outdated bullshit to me. Not a fan of religious institutions at all or how it tells people, especially women, to run their lives.

That's my opinion, tho.

Other women can do whatever they want in their personal lives if it suits them.

Not a main concern to me.

I'm not religious either trust but I do think those roles were established for a reason, but I also totally understand the Women who choose not to stay in them as well.

To each her own, I don't knock or judge another Woman for however she chooses to live her life, it's a good thing that in this day in age she has options.

my mom is a hardball feminist (her and her sister where the first girls in their village to go to secondary school, she was the youngest ever published female author). despite having a job and being in school, she would always come home and make dinner and serve my dad, and if she wasn't home, she'd make sure we did it. why because she was taking care of her family, not because some man made her. she said it was our dad's duty to support us and so it was our duty to support him.

it's one thing to have some man basically treating you like a live-in maid/cook, and it's another thing entirely for everyone in a family to be contributing their part. when my mom quit her job to focus on school full-time, she could do that because of my dad

Exactly, and I'm technically the "bread winner" because I out earn him but he is still the Man in our relationship.

He has no concern to do anything domestic. When I'm at home I do that, he will never come home and not have dinner and a cold beer on the table. He will never have clothes that need to be washed, Uniforms to be pressed....etc while I'm at home.

I will never have to take out trash, wash my car, mow the lawn...etc.

Those gender roles work well for us, that's what it's all about. Finding what works for you in your relationship.

My Man has to be a Man to handle me, I'm dominate at work and in every other aspect of my life except my marriage.
