I caught it while the wife was watching it. My take on it is that it seems like they were both young and mis educated. She was raised and given how to be a good hoe advice from her mom and grandma. Basically a man might hit you but that just means he cares. She played into the seemingly innocent damsel in distress role as well. None of the beatings by Dre were given much context, he just seemed to always be in a shitty mood. Just my opinion I think some of his mental issues were due to the death of his brother. Nothing excusable but we were given little to no context.

This is true. Nigga was just shitty just cause. Nigga was nice to her for maybe 10 minutes in the movie lol. Like yeah he had all these kids and shit but we really don't know why he was so shitty to her. So many people are now saying they're not buying his music and whatnot. I mean Dre can prerty much chill now, I'm sure he'll be ok if nobody buys another album.
