Biz was in the wrong legally, but O'Sullivan contradicted himself by not letting Biz use the sample after he said it became the people's song after he released it to the public. Should have let Biz keep the sample, it sounds like just didn't want his shit used on a rap record.

Oh yea I remember this. Between Biz & De La Soul the Wild West days of sampling died down by the mid 90s. I'm quite sure this the reason why you don't see albums like 3 Feet High & Rising on iTunes.
