I don't gain my knowledge from a rapper/emcee or w/e u want to call it. I read a book or go 2 a professor and find out for myself. I'm not about to listen to sum bum ass nigga w/ a mic. Half of the shit that come out of their mouth is bs and they contradict themselves.(including 80's rappers) I listen to rappers for entertainment not knowledge. I read books for knowledge.

Nigga whether its a song, t.v show or a movie- your subconscious mind accepts that shit as reality 9 time out of ten. Music, however, is the main category of media where you play the same things over and over again in 3 to 5 minute bursts- making the process of embedding the content in your mind that much more efficient. No whatever you wanna put in your brain is your business and it really dont float my boat or sink my ship either way...but lets keep it real.

Ra is and always will be one of the greatest to EVER pick up a microphone. He laid the foundation for most rappers "flow". (And most rappers themselves admit to this. Well, the good ones do anyway.) As far as cats bein lyrical and people accepting/not accepting it... that's always gonna be a debate.

Music is entertainment first and foremost, but that doesn't mean that its impact on culture should be overlooked as non-existent. Hip-hop is THEE most influential form of music and considering that hip-hop artists are 99% black of course it's gonna influence our culture the most. As soon as people can get in their heads that you can listen to lyrics and still hit the clubs and vice versa, the sooner more hip-hop artists can get their just due.

And as far as ol' boy reasoned out... Just because you can type/talk intelligently doesn't make you intelligent. And bein on a HIP-HOP website and bashing hip-hop is asinine in and of itself. SMH. Genius.
