Appreciate the time. The definition of forsaken is to abandon, or give up on something. I just didn't see where you saying he was beaten to the point of being unrecognizable had anything to do with God giving up and abandoning him. The fact that he asked why his father had given up on him tells me that he did not know it would happen.

No, he wasn't all knowing, therefore had no clue what would have been put in there.

He appeared to know a good many things, but of the day and hour, no man knoweth! Not even the son father! How bizarre, but not really.

So how was he able to say that there was a betrayer in one of his twelve disciples and that it was gonna be Judas?

In my personal experience, when I got into the practice of not speaking falsehoods to others and most importantly seeking out falsehoods within myself, seeing others falsehoods becomes more readily perceived.

Yeah, you're right. I was wrong. So far it's a bit tricky to see why God would forsake Y'shua like that but it makes sense. I won't have my stuff together by tomorrow, I was very busy today with house and yard work and I am tired. Um, I did put some time into it and I see now why he forsook His son. The thing is, "did he know" and I'm almost positive he did know, because he foresaw the betrayal of Judas, he foresaw the end of His life (how it would all happen). I'm stuck on how he would've known God would've forsaken Him. Doesn't mean anything though but we'll see. Hit you up maybe Wednesday, it's gonna be quite a few references and break downs.

I disagree with your interpretation. Read the whole story and focus on verses 4, 5, 11, 23, & 24.

Well I guess we can take comfort in the fact NONE have produced even any shitty signs or omens.

I've had my memory jogged while reading the book "Mysteria" by Otto Rhyn. Apoldonius of Tyana and Alexander of Abonotichus, are two of the most well known false messiah and prophet.

Mark 8:29

And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.

Mark 13:6

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Luke 9:20

He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

Luke 21:8

And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

If some of these verses are warning that many would come in jesus's name, it is curious they would call themselves christ. That is what the church has taught these verses mean, but to me, the wording doesn't seem to agree.

This was a verse brought up by TX on the old IC, and I said it meant jesus was warning people to beware of those who called him the messiah. TX asked if I was serious, I said I was. To this day I contemplate these verses.

If someone was coming in your name, could they or why would they also claim to be you?

You have to remember that people at the time didn't really know Jesus was Christ. In those verses where he asked his disciples who he was, Peter's answer was the first time the truth was actually spoken. In the very next verse, Jesus tells them not to tell anyone the truth. In some of the other verses, he's warning of false prophets and people who will try to use the Christ title to pass their own agenda. In others he's warning the disciples that there will people who claim to be followers of Jesus but are untrue.

The argument being made in that video isn't a very good one. One of his points is that there is a 40 year separation between when Jesus died and when the Gospels were written. That may be true, but it's not uncommon. A lot of what we know about history was passed down through oral tradition long before it was written down. Now that may mean that some things get changed and distorted over times, but that doesn't mean the events or the people in those stories didn't exist. His other point is that Paul never mentioned Jesus as a man. Well, Paul never knew Jesus and never had any dealings with Jesus. He wasn't one of the disciples so there wasn't much he could say about Jesus' life. The creator of this video completely ignores that fact. He also uses the Herbrews line about Jesus not being a priest as proof that Paul didn't believe Jesus was a real person. That doesn't hold at all though. What Paul said was true. When Jesus lived, he wasn't a traditional priest. In fact, he was a force against the traditional priesthood at the time.
