i think if any previous beef that happened in the past had the technology we have today plus social media where everything so fast... same shit would be happening too, corps would tweet about it. random celebs would talk about it. its not that hip hop becoming something else. its more of a society thing as a whole.

Why u not tweeting about country music beef?

Nigga that's how its supposed to be

Dude said its the first time social media decided a rap battle.

1. Social media just got huge in the last cpl years

2. Social media has a lot of ppl who listens to music on it

3. The ppl is who decides who wins. And right now THE PPL saying its drake.

Who else suppose to decide bruh? A panel of 4 ppl from the north south east and west?

You know what fucked up? The over/under on how many times ESPN's Around the Horn clowns Meek in a half-hour.

I got it at 5.5. So far they've done it twice. Turn to it now.

ill be honest i never really fucked with either meek or drake. i do bump drakes shit but personally i never liked him. that being said wsnt meek going on a rant about wale not tweeting his shit neither. he talkn about how real he is but everytime someone upsets him he go on twitter and throw a tantrum? All this is is 2 emotional hoe ass niggas havin a pillow fight. Meek had a shitload of material to use from Drake simpin, to the chris brown shit, to the diddy shit. Hes got years worth of material, he used none of it, wasted opportunity. But i never expected this from Drake so he gained some respect from me. Drake just need to drop one last diss track to put meek to bed for good. as far as meek concerned where the fuck you go from here? lol

So now Ice T saying subliminals isn't real "hip hop" like Biggie, Nas, Jay & etc rap gods wasn't doing it before. It's crazy how people act like subliminal disses came out this year because some of hip hop forefathers was doing way before.

Ice T from the coast.

All the major beefs from the west coast were never subliminal

Cube vs. Nwa

Quik vs. Tim Dog

Quik vs. Eiht

Dre n Snoop vs Eazy

Pac vs Big

Pac vs dre, mob deep, lil kim, nas , jayz etc.

Cube vs. Common

Game vs. Fifty

7/31/15 the day beef died in Hip Hop

Sad, but true

When Big n Pac died, it was a setback, but cats were like ok, just keep it on wax

Jay gettin ethered was a setback, but he survived.

50 ended Ja"s,career another chip knocked off

Now w/ this? Considering how popularity clearly plays a part and,how online ridicule and group think takes over, this may be the death nail. We may never see a relevant rapper go at another relevant rapper head on ever again

See this the shit I don't like...Meek coulda flipped this too and been like "corporations can talk all the shit they want but I do this for the streets that's those the only voices I care about"

He coulda spun the whole thing on some populist shit and tried to get the streets/real hip-hop heads behind him as a crusade against corporate influence in hip-hop..but he ain't even take that angle at all

It's like he put NO thought into his response..after the time that had passed I didn't wanna hear no lines like "you soft I'mma call you buttercup"

I'm convinced this nigga had no idea what he was getting himself into when he started tweeting on that fateful day.

So what drake uses reference tracks! His music still better then 99% of the niggas rapping now

This is DEFINITELY the difference between eras. No fan would ever say "so what PAC let Shock G write I get Around, its a great song!!" back in the day. If Drake claims he's on top & untouchable, then he's a fraud mc now. That doesn't make Meek's diss any better, but it does take credibility away from Drake as a rapper. I'm actually disappointed in Drake for having a ghostwriter

I agree with this to an extent but my thing is half these niggas in the Reason claimed they "don't listen to Drake" like that anyways (myself included) and they saying they mad about him having ghostwriters..... here I was thinking "but I thought it was an abomination to like Drake on here ? Let alone enjoy his albums dayum". Was a time niggas used to get clowned on the Reason for saying they liked Drake....

Not condoning the use of ghostwriters but I'm just pointing something out LOLOLOLOLOL

like i said these dudes in here undercover Drake stans.....

Beef died when Interscope ethered Ja Rule. Beef died when 50 cent was losing lyrical battles left and right but the machine proped him up and shelved artist projects so not to interfere with his sales run. Beef died when selling more records and producing pop hits became more important than lyrical ability.

Rap is wrestling. Fake as all hell. Hip hop is dead. Let these entertainers and trap niggas eat though. Rather that then them selling crack to feed their families.

You said earlier that rap is the new hustle right?
