L for meek ?

I just saw this bullshit....smh. This is how it starts. He's basically saying that he wouldn't use ghost writers himself, but he doesn't have a problem w/ other mfs if that's what they want to do. I can understand not wanting to affect the next man's hustle, but this type of mentality is the equivalent of selling out the art form to the industry and mainstream. This is not R&B. This is hip hop. Wtf would I want to hear a nigguh rap another nigguh's bars? I would rather just pay to hear the nigguh who wrote the shit. It's pivotal moments like this where bullshit gets cosigned and accepted by the masses of mfs who really don't give a damn about preserving the authenticity of the culture. And then they want to bitch about how mfs like Rick Ross can prosper off of rapping about the next man's life. smmfh.

Shit fuck it.

I say get Miley Cyrus who's been performing for her whole life and is the daughter of a singer, put her in a room with writers and have her make a rap album. What's the issue, you know she's going to be able to flow.

...

I'm sure the idea has come up.

At first it seemed like a publicity stunt but i can see legitimately why meek mill would feel disrespected...

Just imagine if a nigga mailed in a ghostwritten verse...didnt tell you about it...and then lightweight shitted on you when you asked him to promote your album...

I personally dont have a problem with ghostwriting especially on a club/party track...

But if i put them on my album and they didnt tell me about it i would be heated...especially if my career is based on authenticity

Sandy Bland Death in Texas Jail Sparks Questions

Family and friends of a civil-rights activist found dead in a Texas jail have launched a campaign questioning the authorities' ruling of a suicide.

Sandra Bland was arrested after allegedly becoming combative during a routine traffic stop on Friday. She was found dead in her cell on Monday morning.

The Waller County Sheriff's Office said the 28-year-old died "from what appears to be self-inflicted asphyxiation," calling it a "tragic incident."

However, those who knew Bland don't believe she would have taken her own life. She had recently moved to the area, about 50 miles west of Houston, and was due to start a new job Wednesday as a college outreach officer.

Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis also questioned the circumstances surrounding Bland's death.

"I will admit it is strange someone who had everything going for her would have taken her own life," he told NBC station KPRC in Houston. "That's why it's very important a thorough investigation is done and that we get a good picture of what Ms. Bland was going through the last four or five days of her life."

Posts featuring the hashtags, #JusticeForSandy and #WhatHappenedToSandyBland appeared on Facebook and Twitter Thursday, and friends of Bland told KPRC they were planning a rally at noon Friday at the Waller County Sheriff's Office. An online petition has been launched calling for the Department of Justice to take over the case.

Bland, who graduated from the nearby Prairie View A&M University but recently lived in Chicago, filled her Facebook page with videos in which she made observations about race in America under the title "Sandy Speaks."

"Being a black person in America is very, very hard," she said in a recent post. "Show me in American history where all lives matter."

"Family and friends have no doubt that foul play was involved," one family friend wrote in an email to NBC Chicago. "She was a very outspoken individual, who loved life, went to church and loved her family."

An autopsy performed Tuesday showed Bland's death "has been classified as a suicide, with the cause of death (listed as) hanging," Tricia Bentley, a spokeswoman for the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences in Houston, told the Chicago Tribune.

Court records from Friday show Bland was arrested for assault on a public servant, a third degree felony. She had a court appearance Saturday, where her bond was set at $5,000.

"We're required to check them every hour, 24/7," Sheriff R. Glenn Smith told NBC Chicago. "[On Monday] she was given breakfast and spoken to, at about 7 in the morning. At 8, she spoke to a supervisor on the intercom about making a phone call."

"One of the female jailers went to the door to see if she wanted to go to the rec yard," he said. "She hollered for help, they started CPR. And unfortunately, couldn't revive her."

The earlier sheriff's office statement said "any loss of life is a tragic incident," adding that an investigation was being conducted by outside agencies.

Do you actually like Hip-Hop and everything that comes with it? Are you a Hip-Hop fan?

Or are ya'll just casual fans of music.

Or are ya'll Drake dickeaters.

There are three types of niggas posting on these boards, and all over twitter right now. Only one of those types of niggas should honestly be voicing their opinion on this issue, let alone have said opinion respected.

It seems that the only people getting emotional in this thread are some of the posters supporting Meek Mill, so are they Meek ****eaters?

A nigga should be able to voice an opinion about Hip Hop on a Hip Hop forum without being labeled a stan or a ****eater.

No he shouldn't, not on this subject at the very least, and Im'a explain to you why. You niggas aren't simply "-fans of Drake." I'm a fan of Drake, and I'm able to separate my personal enjoyment of his music from what clearly seems to be a flagrant foul in the game, perpetrated by one of it's most prominent figures in 2015 because I'm a fan of Hip-Hop first.

You are by definition, no fans of Hip-Hop if after hearing that Quentin Miller 10 Bandz shit you aren't in the least bit perturbed or curious at the prospect of a potential great, not writing his own shit. You can't be a fan of Basketball, Football, or any other sport if you don't respect the rules that govern it. That is the very fabric of said game. You maybe a fan of music in general, but fans of Hip-Hop know and honor the rules of this genre because that is what makes it what it is. You are, by definition, stanning if you take it a step forward and attempt to defend said artist. You niggas know the rules to this shit, so I can only assume you are openly opting to not give a shit.

If you are anything other then a fan of Hip-Hop first, then how could you possibly state an objective opinion on something like this? Even if Drake is your guy. You can come into this shit with an attitude of "-fuck Meek. I'm a Drake fan" as long as your a Hip-Hop fan first and foremost. But if your approaching this subject whilst overlooking this ghostwriter dilemma or worse, validating it, then you aren't.

I'd like to know who these Meek dickeaters you speak of are, because through the damn near 100 pages of this thread, I'm not even seeing niggas root for the guy off the simple fact that they enjoy his music as other posters are doing for Drake which is customary. Niggas who are rooting for him at this point are niggas who want to see Drake put in a lyrical body bag strictly for perpetrating. Maybe some of these niggas are 'Drake Haters' but if the accusations are correct, and the evidence is mounting, then as fans of Hip-Hop first and foremost, they are validated in doing so. There isn't anything here to cape for Meek about that goes against the very fabric of the game, so this false equivalency your trying to make is bullshit.

They got fans of other shit who root for a specific player, without really giving a shit about the game itself they play.

They call them groupies, my nigga.

I was hoping meek would surprise us

Meek came up battling through philly. maybe the grimiest place to come up through in hiphop. if y'all honestly think meek can't drop something heat then idk what to tell you. its been three, three DAYS. Ether dropped three MONTHS after Takeover. give it till Friday atleast before exposing y'all hate for meek. jeez

Different eras, no comparison

If Meek would sit still and stfu people could accept a diss not coming right away, but he tweeting ajd trying to play the 'boss' route, itw pathetic

Also, its sad rap is so emotional. Why do niggas gotta 'hate' Meek for pointing out he looks silly right now

Tweeting? He tweeted the night of and last night...two days AFTER Drake's track dropped. It's been three, count em' THREE, days since the track dropped. Can yall calm down and let it breathe for a minute? If someone don't respond in half an hour y'all in here saying they scared. Give it a week, damn

I get where your coming from, but a REAL writer could easily come up with a diss track in one day. Especially since theirs so much material already out their for meek to use on drake.

If anyone knows how many days did it take nas to make ether? It couldn't of taken more than 5 days after takeover hit the radio.

Took NAS 3 months to drop ETHER !!!

But rumor has it that NAS was waiting to drop it on Jays birthday..

Lol..

Didn't we dispel this a few weeks ago?

Ether did not come out three months later

It was about three weeks

Edit: Nevermind, seems I was mistaken. I remember supa ugly came out a matter of days after ether, and internets say that was December 01, so I guess it was three months. It certainly didn't seem that long tho. I stand corrected
