I like this comment.

I never understood why Drake was so popular. He's the Taylor Swift of hip hop, but more narcissistic and he can't write his own music. He epitomizes all the terrible of this generation, with none of the redeeming qualities, packaged in an inoffensive off-brand Canadian child actor.

He fits in PERFECTLY with a corporate controlled, demographically modeled genre. Anyone who expects realness out of it knows very little about this side of the music industry. There's no shortage of realness to be had in music, you just won't find it here.

To say "he doesn't write his own music" is a bit of hyperbole b/c we know he CAN write his own music. It's what makes it that much more disappointing... I believe that's likely why the backlash isn't anywhere near what it probably should be...

We all know Drake can spit and the references we've heard ain't have shit to do with being a lyricist/wordsmith.

Meek Mill won this battle. A week later and the discussion of the battle is squarely on how much Drake uses ghost writers and writing assistance. We are no longer talking about trigger fingers turning into twitter fingers because it is a shallow diss. We would rather people to express themselves through spoken word and writing as apposed to violence. We no longer talk about about "his girl's tour" because in a liberal egalitarian society we celebrated when a woman achieves not shun. Getting "bodied by a singing nigga" is that white boy self deprecative bullshit that doesn't fly in the black community.

If Ice Cube is ok with it I'm ok with, the "winning" in your delusional ass mind has nothing to do with the actual lyrics of the battle. You're really trying your best to twist it but it makes you look Maggie Simpson and Meek Mill a baby bottle.

Meek is still the laughing stock of the industry and CLEARLY lost the battle in every most segments of society. Everything you're referring to is outside the battle and was discussed in tweets and Flex Hogan shows. Like I've said earlier in the thread this isn't Dateline NBC. You don't win a battle just for exposing something about someone. If that were the case Jay would have been victorious against Nas just for disposing used condoms on his child's baby seat.

Anything that occurs to Drake as a result of ghostwriters is his own undoing. Meek is just the one that spoke to it.

Maybe he could have won the battle if he would have restated it in a creative manner in his actual diss track. Instead we got the garbage that resulted in him eating this L.
