Fuck that Homo Omar he didn't run shit like some people have said on here, he was just another street dude who had respect like Bodie but he wasn't no boss, like Marlo Avon or Stringer,

my favorite character would be Stringer i loved the way he tried to crossover and make money the legit way it could of easily work but he let his guard down on the streets Stringer was close to leaving all that behind and becoming another legit dude who used the money he accumulated through shady means to get money in a way where he wouldn't necessarily face the possibility of jail time.

u obviously have no clue as to how the streets flow.. Omar was a boss in every aspect.. he had his own code and played the game the way he felt it needed to be played.. A TRUE BOSS

if it's not the best TV show ever it's easily in the top 10 of all time

matter fact...

The Wire was more then a TV show it was a living breathing character study

clash of codes,morals and idealogies

and to the cat that said Jaime Hector had it easy doesn't know much about acting

trust me...it's easier for an actor to show emotion

and harder for them NOT to show it....especially on a program like the Wire

got to cosign about Jamie Hector playing Marlo........excellent acting cause a lot of people didn't recognize him from Paid in Full

it's harder to be stone faced and emotionless when a lot of serious drama pops off. plus you got to remember his character was challenging thug kingpins 35+ with at the minimum 20+ years in the game. for a 20 yr old dealer to exhibit that much leadership and discipline to challenge old heads who been running shit for years showed a lot of potential for whoever Marlo's character was based on. imagine if them brothers did something legal with those talents SMH

plus to note Avon seemed realer than most, but at the end he was shook cause he wanted to stay stagnant, he never wanted to progress pass the street shit. yeah he gave Cutty a pass, which made him seem like a real nigga. but what about how he pressured his nephew to stay in the game when he knew he wasn't built for it? what about when Stringer gave him an opportunity to be legal, he chose to stay involved in hood bullshit?

I give Stringer credit cause even though he was grimy and got played by the corporate gangsters he at least had the vision to see the bigger picture and at least had the heart to try to get out of his comfort zone (the street). he tried to elevate above the bullshit, but like many guys who grow up in that environment, their peers show that crab mentality and attempt to hold him back. If Avon was a real friend, he would've supported Stringer to elevate pass the drug game like he did Cutty, but I guess he secretly hated on Stringer for wanting to do something even he was too scared to do.

there were so many subliminal lessons in that show that made it so realistic LOL

I agree with the people that says that this was the best show of all time. The reason i say that is if you rate shows on what they were based upon no show eva showed every aspect of the street culture the way the wire did. Most shows always give you 1 dimensional drug dealers thats just an account of how people thats not from the hood think niggas act but the wire gave you actual people that everybody from the inner city felt they knew or could relate to.

Another character that was the shit tho was that police ( never knew his name) that took the lil nigga money that Marlo gave them for school n the alley, he was crooked as hell but yet too damn realistic

1st up would be marlo stanfiled because because he ended up with the crown and got out his own way and filthy rich!!

2nd up would be Stringer Bell str8 up! if it was for him avon empire wouldnt have been so strong. he invested unlike the average drug dealer spending his money on small mom and pop stores.

I can't see how anybody could respect Stringer. He killed his homeboy's nephew and then fucked his baby moms

Come on brah, D'angelo was gonna snitch. Avon knew that shit too. he was gonna take down the whole family. if he didnt want to be apart of it, he shouldve stacked his cash and dipped out. no foul no harm...

Exactly Stringer was the man.

I like the scene in the club. Avon just got free they were partying fine females everywhere and he wanted to get some.

Everytime he tried to holla Stringer fucked it up. Later he showed Avon that he had a nice home for him and left. After that those 2 girls knocked on the door.

And i bet he felt freedom. That was a bossmove from Stringer to welcome him home like that.

Avon just wanted to war and fight with other crews. Stringer saw that they made already more than they ever could imagine !

I got to disagree with the bold.

Avon was alot of things..but shook wasn't one of them.

It's not the he was scared or shook of moving pass the drug and street game. For good or bad he just totally accpeted and was comfortable with what he was.A drug dealer & gangsta.

This scene here perfectly illustrates this:

This also shows the differnet idealogies of Stringer and Avon that eventurlally leads to their falling out

Got-damn! I feel bad for those that spelted on this gem of show

favcjharacters

Stringer bell-i loved how he really thought he could outthink everyone in the game, yet that shit finally caught up with him...it was classic

Bodie-escaping from boys home, knocking out the police officer, seeing the knockers at the movie theater, beating the hamsterdamn because of entrapment, all stories i can see me laughing at around the way..

Poot-this nigga hustled all his life, got sent away, came back....killed one of his best friends..saw anthoer get killed..was right in the thick of several turf wars....and finaly realized that shit wasn't for him and got a job at foot locker....i relate more to him than any other character on that show(i haven't killed anyone before, but i can relate to being amongst thta enviorment for years, and finally deciding that it just wasn't for me)...had he went to college instead of footlocker, that shit woulda been even crazier

omar-he had honor, and lived by a higher code, even if he robbed and stole, his lead his life in a way that made sense to him, and he was at peace with it

mcnulty-the look on his face when they described the profile of the "serial killer" was priceless...priceless....best actor on the show

clayy davis just for saying sheeeeeeeiiiittttttt

cutty-i really like stories of reform...

marlo-MY NAME IS MY NAME...that was ill

al the other charaters were also great, and entertaining, (chris, snoop, kenard, mike, dookie, the dude from the docks, prop joe, my nigga avon, bunk, carver, snitching ass randy((great actor))) but those stood out to me...
