Yall keep saying Avon bodied D or Avon was pushin to get D to stay in the game. That's not the case. Avon was lettin D go do his thing but Stringer was all in Avon ear. Shyt, even after all the shyt Stringer was tellin Avon, Avon still tried to protect D when he was locked up

Anyway, Omar's a fag, point black period. Give a damn how good he was. I'd have to say Marlo. That was a real trap nigga. You got to be cold to be successful in the game, and he seemed to be the only one that knew that shyt. Everyone else fallin in love with each other and shyt. Love and money only mix in marriage

He did get LUCKY AS HELL though, he coulda been dead a couple of times

EDIT: At the end of the day though, I relate more to Avon. Caring and shyt, family values, but if someone shows some disrespect, he get fierce. And he love puttin work in even though he at the top (top quality about leadership is lead from the front)

At the bolded...

Anybody else pick up on the fact that she gambled away all the money the Barksdales left them?

I remember when Namond and his mother met with Brianna (Avon's sister) and she told Namond that they left him enough money to be well taken care of.

Then, a few shows later, when Bunny Colvin picked Namond up from the precinct and he asked him where his mother was...he said she always takes trips to Atlantic City.

Wow...never noticed that

michael and omar...im convinced michael's entire character was to show how Omar came to be in the first place...although the ending to all of the kids stories except Namond's did fuck w/ me when i finished the 5th season...damn Dookie or whatever that boys' name was became a dope fiend (aka Young Bubbles)

Yup. He was empty which seems accurate for the role he was playing though. Lifeless if you ask me.

Marlo was the best character,^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this is what makes him because it makes you think why is this nigga so ruthless he killed mad niggas that didn't have to die like that family because he "heard" they were talkin' shit about him,he doesn't know for sure,it's just something he heard on the street. Marlo goes down in TV history as one of the baddest villians ever.

cuzzo I said Marlo on the first page of this thread

he was the best one out of all the gangstas, he had no flaws. he murked that chick Avon sent with no remorse. then the way he played prop joe and took over the co-op was cool and bloodthirsty as shit. he was disciplined on his game

cutty was funny too fucking all them lil young niggaz moms while he was training them in the gym LOL

that's exactly why Marlo regin wasn't gon last long regardless of anything esle

he had no morals or code

crazy as it may sound....you got to have these in any game...even the drug game

Avon had his flaws...but over-all he was the better and more respectful of the kingpins including Marlo and Stringer

this scene here sums it up.....He lets Cutty out the game without reget even though Cutty admitly failed his "mission"

and even more gives Cutty his start up money for his gym.

Now imagine one of Marlo soilders coming to him saying he wants out after purposely blowing a hit.....and then asking for money ....nigga be escorted to a vacant lot with Snoop & Chris

if it's not the best TV show ever it's easily in the top 10 of all time

matter fact...

The Wire was more then a TV show it was a living breathing character study

clash of codes,morals and idealogies

and to the cat that said Jaime Hector had it easy doesn't know much about acting

trust me...it's easier for an actor to show emotion

and harder for them NOT to show it....especially on a program like the Wire

Fuck that Homo Omar he didn't run shit like some people have said on here, he was just another street dude who had respect like Bodie but he wasn't no boss, like Marlo Avon or Stringer,

my favorite character would be Stringer i loved the way he tried to crossover and make money the legit way it could of easily work but he let his guard down on the streets Stringer was close to leaving all that behind and becoming another legit dude who used the money he accumulated through shady means to get money in a way where he wouldn't necessarily face the possibility of jail time.

Smh.

That is the most ridiculous statement. That wasn't who he really was and that was a beautiful thing, this makes him a b********? That's an unfortunate way of thinking.

nooooooooooooo.....the fact that he acted like a tough guy, but never backedup his words....then got robbed for his pack by a lil kid then sonned by said lil kid, then allowed himself to get slapped up for tryin to act tough is what made him a bitchass nigga

Yeah niggas were mad shook of him but at the end of the day he was still just a normal street dude, nigga wasn't making business moves like Stringer or Avon, he wasn't smart like them two they were the ones that were in real control.
