( A nod to the chess scene in season 1 when Bodie thinks that smart pawns can accomplish something in the game). I also ironic that the whole game is rigged statement is mentioned throughout the series. In season 1, Daniels wife tells him that the game is rigged but you cannot lose if you dont play...

And I'm with you, I see Naymond being Bunny or maybe becoming a senator like Clay Davis but not corrupt. The show goes out of it's way to show us Naymond turning around into someone upstanding. I'm not sure why people think that implies he's going to turn into a snake like Clay Davis.

Not really. Marlo was just looked at as a bank roll. He undoubtedly had some money stashed away and people were looking at him as they would any potential investor. They did the same thing with Stringer. The only difference is Stringer didn't just want to be an investor. He wanted to be a big shot in the business world. That's when they started laughing at him.
