As for Losing my balance, you're making the assumption he can get the sample cleared and that a accoustic rap song would work on the radio.
I think you are over simplifying shit and looking back in the past with blurred vision and memories. J Cole already tried the "real hiphop" route with WHO DAT and that didn't pan out too well. As a new artist you have to play the game until you build up enough commercial success credit like a Kanye, Jay, Wayne,etc did until the radio is forced to play whatever you put out.
