Something don't add up.. wouldn't Jay E need more than one single?.. unless they KNOW that song with Chris Brown is gonna be a top 15 hit, lol..

I think the Chris Brown single is just so they have something to push on radio and give the record label (Sony). If Jay E album is as good as people claim, word of mouth will push it like what is happening to Kendrick right now.

The market is there right now with dudes like K Dot, J Cole, etc blowing up. Jay E's main problem is those dudes put out mixtapes and music on the regular/tour to develop that fanbase and build anticipation.

Then again, part of Jay E's appeal is he doesn't put out shit (a la Andre 3000, Lauryn Hill, etc).

Appeal?.. man, Lauryn ain't drop an album since 1998.. you might as well compare Jay E's album to Detox if that's the case..

I'm gonna wait for the album, since a nigga like me waited 5 years for Saigon's joint to drop (he had label issues).. but that nigga Jay E just seem lazy, lol..

Look at the bright side, we know it's done according to credible sources (Questlove and Ryan Leslie). With that said, J Cole lost!

Why the fuck would u sign a nigga based off critical acclaim if you're not gonna drop the project. This is completely different from the 40+ niggas signed to CMR that no one gives a fuck about. I highly doubt he's a tax write-off. What's Jay's reason for signing a known non-mainstream act if u only want hits?

Who said they only want hits? You've got to understand there is a business side to this shit too, ya'll think labels just drop records and that's it. Labels have budgets, they have other artist, they have to roll out the album the right way, etc.

Ya'll act like these labels aren't investing millions of dollars in these artist, of course they want to make their money back and maximize profits. They ain't trying to appease just hiphop heads.

Plus who said Jay E is a non-mainstream act?

Nigga is just lazy and uncommitted. End of.

How long did it take Kendrick Lamar to drop an album when he signed his deal with Interscope?

Fact is Elect's brand of music is miles ahead of Jay Z's . . Its an awkward union IMO

Sorry, I couldn't hear you clearly with Jay's dick in your mouth. Chill out with the obvious shyt/psuedo industry babble, we all already know that shyt, and then answer my question. Why sign an artist if he's unmarketable?

No one had to say anything, in this climate Jay-E is not a nigga that will get heavy radio play, so he made himself a non-mainstream act.
