It's funny cuz they said that in the first movie too. I looked up what the true event was, and it's just the directors old neighborhood having people knock on doors seeing if folks were home, if no one answered they broke in, If they did answer, they just asked if someone was home and left. Guess it was a similar neighborhood filled with summer homes like in the movie. No murders or anything happened haha
