Akon is entitled to his opinion. There are a lot of other people who I would say that about though. Chuck D. Nas. Scarface. Pac. KRS One in his prime. Reakwon and Ghostface. All of them at one point have written incredible though provoking lyrics that stand the test of time, Em isnt the only person to do it. And Akon is an R&B singer, his opinion on rap doesnt hold much weight to me...he should be talkin about Trey Songs and Neyo lol.

You miss the point though everyone does on here

Eminem made those Deep/Introspective Song's but unlike others they were actual really big Hits on the Chart

No 1 else has managed to make real Music real Deep but still make them Chart topping Hit's like Eminem has

Because when artists/rappers such as Akon are holding court on a public platform such as Soccer AM, it's important to recognize that the people involved with those kind of programmes are almost exclusively middlebrow whites who know next to nothing about hip-hop - and the audiences for the most part are impressionable teenagers. When we have BLACK artists such as Akon - who his seen as being a modern representative of hip-hop on a mainstream level - parroting the same nonsense, we are giving them exactly what they want.

They just want to be able to say "Look Eminem is the goat cuz Akon said so" "Look Eminem is the goat cuz Usher said so", just like they say "LOOK MAN RAKIM SAID EMINEM IS GOAT". How many of those Eminem fans who say that can even name 3 Rakim songs?

You don't seem to understand that as long as popular black artists continue to go out there and contribute to the white-washing of the culture by giving such dickriding "opinions" of Eminem, soon enough they will begin to think that the WHOLE hip-hop culture shares the same opinion.

This is true right here

I didnt miss the point actually. Hit or No hit he's not the only person capable of creating deep introspective songs as you put it. And those others may not have gone diamond, but they were all successful gold and platinum artists.

I also think that Eminem would agree that he is not the alpha and omega of greatness in rap becuase unlike a fan he understands the roots of this music (despite the racist tapes) and respects it. You fans are tyring to anoint him like an Elvis, he dont do that himself to his credit. Chuck D making whites buy pro black music> Em selling white boy rap to members of his own race imo (and I like Em earlier work)

How can you be racist if ya best friend from child hood a person you even got tattood on ya skin is fully black, when you grew up around mostly blacks in black populated hoods in Detroit, when you even lived with a black family Proof's mother at 1 point, when you grew up going to majority black schools in Detroit

How is Music people relate to speaking on struggles like growing up poor in the hood, growing up with out a father, providing and caring for ya daughter, growing up with a parent on welfare, growing up working minimum wage jobs, speaking againist the goverment and system, over coming drug addiction, relationship problems etc 'white boy' Rap'

When Black Artists as you and countless othgers have stated make Song's about the exact same Subject Matter/Topics and when people of all races, backrounds go through those struggles?

I know more blacks going through those things Em Rap's about then whites @ son of 1973

I understand the roots of Hip Hip and respect the pioneers that created who were black and latinos

But i simply feel Em is the greatest cos i enjoy his Music the most and can play his Albums with out getting bored, relate to his Music and can feel his Music and just overall enjoy how it sounds and connect to it

white boy rap is what he came out with, similar to the beastie boys. songs like my name is and slim shady were not what black artist were doing at the time and they would not have sold doing that kind of music. he got played on rock stations that never played rap, he got a serious head start in the game for those old enough to remember. then his struggle music as you put it is not the same as the sturggle music of black artist from the hood. his hood is different becuase being a poor white is nothing like being a poor black or black period. it not hate to tell the truth about how society works in terms of segregation racism etc.

Yeah but i'm not talking about The Slim Shady Songs i was strictly talking about the Eminem Song's

You can't say that cos Eminem grew up in black neighborhoods in Detroit, grew up with having a best friend from child hood that was black and was raised around predominantly blacks in Detroit

And if you don't believe me you can watch the Beef DVD and you will see an Interview with Proof's mother talking about how Eminem in his teens lived at her house and how she raised him and took care of him and she talks about how Eminem and Proof were neighbors that lived on the same street in Detroit
