I think Young Jeezy set the path for Rick Ross with that Album but i always felt Jeezy has been the better Artist Jeezy has more meaning and emotion in his Music and unlike Ricky Young Jeezy can actually do Hook's himself where as Rick Ross will fill up his Albums with a guest feature to do the Hook on almost every Song

You hear how Rick Ross always picks nice Beat;'s which he does but Young Jeezy has always picked the illest Southern sounding Beat's too Thug Motivation 101 is arguably a better Produced Album than any Ricky Album

You saw the growth in content from Young Jeezy on The Recession Album too he was addressing deeper topics away from his hustling comfort zone

Ima cosign that he had Ross' spot.

But he lost out badly this year and should have released his album after Lose My Mind.

Album has been pushed back with no release date.

Yeah thug motivation> anything ross ever did.

Young Jeezy is basically the Jay Z of the South but more divese in content and more of an Artist where Jeezy lacks perhaphs in not being as Lyrical as Jay Z he puts emotion in his Music and crafts good Albums which are his advantages over Jay Z or Rick Ross he is a better Song Maker then both basically but all have similar content for the most part but Jeezy will get political or personal at times he has a better balance in content to them

Thug Motivation 101 is severely overrated. That album is a more darker, gothic version of T.I.'s Trap Muzik with simplified lyrics. If anything, Trap Muzik opened up the lane for both TM101 and Ross. Outside of Shawty Redd and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Thug Motivation used the same producers as T.I. (outside of Kanye and T.I. himself). Ross came in the game with a hybrid of both that gothic, dark sound on Thug Motivation and the more soulful, R&B sound of mid-late 90's Bad Boy.

All of Jeezy's biggest songs featured artists that were more known and relevant than he was. "And Then What" is his biggest solo song and that song wasn't anywhere near as huge as "Soul Survivor" and later "Go Getta" and "Put On". Ross came in the game w/ "Hustler" and he was the lone star of the song besides one of The Runners doing the screwed hook. Then came "Blown" and "Push" (which was also Ross solo and this song was bigger than "Blown"). Of course his next few albums had singles w/ big features, but even this year Ross has had a song where he was the star in "B.M.F."

Lastly, Ross has managed to stay relevant where Jeezy was ultimately shelved because Ross upgraded his sound with each album. Recession showed some growth on Jeezy's part, but for the most part, it was the same album that he'd been creating since he first came out. No song on the album spoke to the album's title and intended theme. The song about the President ending up being about rims and Nas and Jeezy spoke mostly on things that had nothing to do with the President being Black. Rick Ross on the other hand went from being just another trap rapper to boss status in terms of how he spoke on the drug game. His lyrics became better and his flow became sharper. Jeezy on the other hand regressed.

DAAM RIGHT!!! but ross was out way b4 jeezy, but i feel like jeezy paid the way 4 that nigga to blow up the way he did too. i don't see why the reccession only went gold, when it was jeezy most improved album lyrically & topic wise. jeezy has always had more emotion & feeling in his music because he knows he's talking and reachin' out to niggas. opposed to ross who just "raps". ross just appeals to those who live the good life, compared to jeezy who appeals to every & any1, in any situation.

I agree with you, all those albums were better

Im far but a Jeezy stan (hes average at best) but even I will admit that TM101 had a broader appeal and a bigger impact than any albums from the above mentioned rapper

I remember watching CNN one day and they did a segment on the whole Snowman movement
