R&B has fallen off big time... it's just going through that stage where someone needs to come in and re-invent the genre. I consider R&B to be the "gateway" to Soul, Jazz, etc. People aren't really gonna get into that older stuff until they hear something new that catches their ear and makes them want to go back and check the past. I haven't really been checking for any R&B these past few years... Mary J's The Breakthrough was probably the last R&B record that caught my ear and made me want to listen, and that was back in '05.
