The England version of Blackstarr...it wasnt wack. cool beat, didnt like the sampled hook. Good subject matter, nice lyrics, especially the first dude.

...without guns, drugs, and booties how do they think they're going to make a living as rappers?

This where i disagree H Rap, no matter what an MC Rap's about there will always be someone to relate a conscious MC may not sell platinum but he/she will have a loyal fan base who will always support them

The best Basketball player isn't neccesarily on T.V. there is a talented kid who play's at a local park and is probably better then a lotta NBA pro players but we controlled by TV so the best Artists aren't always on MTV the underground is the soul of life what's hot first always starts in the underground then the mainstream follow

What happened to an MC just going in the booth and Rapping fire, no gimmicks, no bullshit just straight spitting

That's really romantic but you cant feed your family with a dollar & a dream.

Its almost impossible to tell a broke dude from the hood not to chase the money side of the game...its too enticing, you have to have strong character and a side hustle.

The conscious M.C. is a starving artist, I have seen it first-hand, you end up opening for a for hardcore artists who come to your hometown and the crowd throws shot-glasses at you.
...groupies walk right past you to get next to the nicca with gold in his mouth. I mean if skills sold truthfully we could be Talib Kweli...but we dumb down our music to double our dollars...thats just Common sense.

H Rap can we agree American Hip-Hop aside from a few like Styles P lost the esssence of street hard Lyrics with a conscious element?

But on this side of the Atlantic you can see the hunger & pain?

I think it's up to the public to support the quality Artists but i feel like this Jay Z can pack out a stadium with Lady GaGa or who ever else is on a tour and you will see mostly teenage kid's from the suburbs go to that concert

But someone like Styles P gets satisfaction knowing there is kid's with nothing, no hope in life listening to his Music on the block and enjoying it that Music keep's a lotta people going day by day, people from the same enviroment Styles P is from listening and loving his Music on a run down block with piss on the floor is a better feeling for Styles P then selling out a stadium full of teeny boopers

But not many American MC's aside from a few

The problem i feel is Talib Kweli is mad talented but the kid's gonna say he is too preachy

While Kurupt is mad talented but Gangster with out a conscious message

I feel it has to be a balance of both like 2pac had to connect with the public

Theres a lotta people that are proud to be black here for real, some of these Rappers ain't doing it for the money just for the love and cos it's a culture

But in predominantly Inner City areas i am hearing Recovery being bumped no less then a Styles P, Young Jeezy, Nas Album would get bumped, the important thing to remember is age people who are black and i see listening to the Album are aged around 15-25 people that you actually see outside on the corners

Eminem doesn't make Music for old people, it's a young man's sport so i have to make this thread cos people on the IC swear no one who is non white and from a lower class social housing area listens to Eminem but i see it on a consistant basis so i think it's funny how people can make statements on the Internet that are not actually reality

I'm not being a stan either i said Eminem will not get as much play as Styles P in these areas/demographics but to think black people from these areas don't listen to Eminem is a massive lie out here he gets bumped way more then Jay Z
