the funniest scene to me was when cam'ron was trying to cry and hell rell was too hard to show emotion so he was just shaking his head with sunglasses on in that dark ass kitchen. top notch acting no doubt.

killa season was cheesy and hilarious, grodt was meh in general

killa season was so bad it was great, cult status...while grodt was a mild version of 8 mile...truth?

that never happens.

cuz if i dont like whats mainstream, then i must not like hip hop at all right? and if i listen to any other genre outside of hip hop then i must not really appreaciate hip hop at its finnest? if i dont like what's sellin the most an have an opinion outside the box about who's the best rapper instead of who's the best product then i must not know nothing about hip hop.

if i go outside and see a bunch of niggas listening to this:

instead of this:

are they elitist? is their opinion wrong? their musical taste suck? must i go by and say "holly fuck you're listening to oldschool hip hop? you niggas love them internet rappers LOLOLOL"

oh but its just a matter of perspective right? like we gotta pretend that no one is a better rapper than anyone else cuz its all about opinion, right?.

the way i see this new gen of hip hop is kinda like: WTF? is this really a life to aspire? writing a million songs about mistreating women and have cars and money to live the fantasies of 13 year old kids? taking a lot of pictures of yourself holding money with an angry face to show how "street" you are? been in the spotlight for a brief moment and then been chewed up by the music industry (see Diddy) unless you become a souless devil yourself (see Jay Z).

theres nothing wrong about you liking what you like. Thats cool. The problem is when you talk down on other people's taste in Hip Hop and discount it as "not reall Hip Hop". Thats when your bein elitist. Whether u feel like Gucci or Waka or anyone in "Mainstream" music is wack or whatever is something different from saying they are destroying Hip Hop. People relate to Hip Hop different, and people listen to hip hop for different reasons.

I personally dont like Gucci or whatever, but Im not going to disparage people from listening to him or whateve. Frankly I dont care, I just listen to what I like

what usually makes me say WTF is when niggas come out and say some of the most retarded shit like "young jeezy is a better rapper than nas cuz he sells more" or "rick ross is way better than biggie" thats just sounds ignorant as hell, and if you even dare to refuse tihs niggas be like "oh stop hating on the south you fucking hater"
i think jada's verse in this song is kinda what made me make tihs thread:

like always i agree with you for the most part here.

but i understand where this guy is coming from, hes retaliating over the whole overhaul of ross/Lil b/gucci (mainly ross) faggotry on the IC

its like half of these threads are basically saying its ok to be an average/ shitty rapper as long as you ride a hot beat, and the stupid pack mentality of the reason

is that if an album is coming out you HAVE to lick the artists nuts.

but i get what your saying, people can listen to what they want to.

its just when these folk start saying that Old school/real/lyrical hip hop is 'Boring'

and Rick ross is gonna drop a classic and save hip hop...

some hating/clowning is in order.

Nigga who cares, listen to who u want. I been bumpin Ross since POM all way through trilla and DTR despite it being the UNCOOL thing to do on this site(which anyone on this site can confirm I been Ridin wit Ross before the bandwagon started). As long as you can find wat u wanna listen to stop worryin abt wat the next man is bumpin. Are y'all mad because the music u like isn't popular?

Based on Impact,Influence, dominance and critical acclaim Wu Tang is the Greatest movement/group/crew ever witnessed in Hiphop. These brothers was the epitome of everything that hip-hop stood for: the struggle/fearless self-expression coupled with skilfully crafted messages of the African oral culture.

They lyrics wuz conscious, introspective, provided an insight to the street life, storytellin/imagery wuz vivid/epic and most importantly they lyrics had references to the Nation of Gods and Earths and the Clan's beliefs.

And lets not forget that RZA gave birth to Kanye and Just Blaze sound. His technique and inclusion of sped-up soul samples in some of his beats had a major influence in the two of them. Son is responsible for the Wu-Tang Clan's trademark sound.RZA is arguably GOAT hiphop producer

The Wu had the game on lock from 1993-2000. IMO the Wu wuz the Chicago Bulls of Hiphop.

In that time frame Wu gave us 7 Classics:

36 Chambers: Top 5 Hiphop album in History alongside Illmatic,Paid in Full,Death Certificate & It takes a Million

Wu-Forever: GOAT Double CD.....Inspectah deck's verse on "Triumph" is a top 10 in history...nuff said

Ironman: Classic record and one of the best releases in '96

OB4CL: GOAT Mafioso-themed Album and arguably Top 10 in Hiphop History

Liquid Swords: Lyrically on par with Illmatic,Paid in Full and Ressurection..a slept on Classic.GZA is a top 5 lyricist

in Hiphop

Supreme Clientele: Arguably the Best record of the last decade

Tical: one of the most underrated albums in Hiphop

The only crew/group that comes close is Juice Crew........

no question dawg, wu revolutionalized the game, they came wit some street tactics to the corporate game, buzing deals that enabled them individually to separate themselves from the one label they were signed to as a group, which was loud and branch out individually to other labels, got there publishing, which heads take for granted now, but back then a lot of these corporate crooks and bougie niggas were skanking(conning) niggas left right and center for there publishing back then, plus they managed to get a certain amount of points from there album sales which was above the normal amount of points niggas back then usually got, they were about there bizness, trust me on that, hustlas, you see what i'm saying, its about this money dawg, no one does this shit for free, you get what i'm saying

and even though they were on some gutta, gully street shit wit there bars, beats and so on and so on, they tried to reach our human being people worldwide living real lives on the roads on some subliminal consious type shit, sprinkled through out there bars on there tunes and skits on some stop the random violence type shizzle, see the bigger picture, you get what i'm saying

but at the same time, they did this on a mainstream level, wit complex rhyme schemes, bars, gully flows and hardcore, concrete, sicktrumentals and still went platinum or gold at least and on a mainstream level, you've got to salute them brothers for that shit, you always knew while the mainstream hip hop game went pop, they stil kept it gutta, you get what i'm saying, always had heads clucking for that hardcore authentic street shit wit complex lyricism, street but lyrical, they wern't on no backpack shit, you get what i'm saying, you've got to salute them brothers for that, salute, salute, salute, everytime you know and you know this

100 my dude. Wu really brought that Project life style to the forefront but at the same time was telling and showing brothers\sisters how to get out. The biggest thing that drew me to the WU was the brotherhood and how heads could come together and everyone get a piece.
