How does this happen? Lol. You may want to reconsider this theory.

GZA's liquid swords is one of my favorite albums, every time i listen to it, i never skip a song, i have to listen to the album all the way through. 36 Chambers is another of my favorite albums, same reason as Liquid Swords, I always listen all the way through. RZA's beats are spectacular. He has too many nice beats for anyone to say he is "wack". It is a good argument to make for NWA to be more revolutionary though. Wu-Tang the best group imo. I mean they are spittin 5% doctrine and white people still love it, that is how good they are. lol

It was an intentionally exaggerated statement. Sorry but i cant get with this Shaolin bullshit . If i want some Kung Fu id just watch a Bruce Lee movie . Lol at the 2nd bolded you'd be surprised how many white fans Dead Prez and other underground rappers like them have.

Yeah I know, I have met nerdy white guys who love Dead Prez, its no longer surprising, I threw that in for comedic relief. But you are acting like every song was on some kung fu stuff. They liked kung fu, you can see the influence, but it wasn't all about that. They covered multiple topics, in a lyrical way, through a unique style, over creative beats. They may not be your taste but they are not utter garbage, them laffy taffy guys were trash. Wu-Tang is legendary.

I still cant get with their style , i dont like the production nor the flow . All they do is mumble .

Lol. Ok, I respect that. Least you admit they are lyrically good. But I can understand not liking their style.

To be honest, it sounds like you like Bone Thugs because they're sound like "singers" more than "rappers"

They don't rap, they sign the song.

They sing-rap , they were one of the first and the best to do it . Hell i'd favor rapping over singing anyday but when it comes to Bone Thugs i'd rather hear them sing.

they are the dudes who live up to pretty much everything good you can think about hiphop street culture... they keep real, do it for the fans, not chumps, release good music, smarter than your favourite rapper

out of the other groups mentioned above, the street card is wu tangs strongest point... roots are the best musicians, public enemy are the political and nwa are the like the westcoast og's

36 Chambers is an all time favorite for me, along with many other Wu-Tang records, and I love most of Ghostface work, but to be completely honest, after all these years I still feel like they're just joking with all that kung fu shit and supreme mathematics, etc.

I've heard RZA talk about how he grew up loving kung fu movies etc etc, but at this point I have to think they're kind of just laughing at anyone who doesn't just see all that Shaolin Monk shit as a running gag.

My observation: Wutang is the divide line in hiphop.

People either 'get' Wutang or they don't.

Rza is either considered the GOAT producer or the wackest... no in between opinions of him.

I think Wutang is the greatest hiphop collective of alltime. Can anyone name a better, more consistent group?

There is an 'in between' opinion. RZA is not the greatest, but he's up there in top 5 to me. I 'get' with Wu-Tang but not as a stan that's jocking their nuts and hails them as the greatest thing ever.

As for a better consistent group... Geto Boys, only one dud and five other albums that are either masterpieces or very good. Wu-Tang have 5 albums, 1 is classic, 1 is very good the other 3 are all forgettable and average at best. And not even their solo careers are all that (Ghostface excluded for most, but even I can't see what's special with ANY album of his, period)

For sure Wu is ONE of the most revolutionary groups. Their movement was amazing and the amount of Classic songs and albums that came from Wu can not be denied. But are they THE most revolutionary group? No, I'd put RUN DMC over them just off IMPACT alone. RUN DMC took Hip Hop to heights that Wu can only dream of. Their Impact was more revolutionary than any Hip Hop Group in History. I love Wu, always have and always will but for them to be the most revolutionary they would have to be the GOAT group and yes they are ONE of the GOAT groups but with what Run DMC did for Hip Hop, nobody is more revolutionary than them. Peace JMJ.

Lol NWA didn't create gangsta rap and don't pull the young'n shit with me ever again I'm more hip hop than youll ever be my nigga you can throw around your opinions as facts all your want but in the end there just your opinions.

When it comes to the roots albums being classic its all opinion and i view Illadelph Halflife as a classic album
i can find at least 4 garbage songs on that album ... atleast 4

What revolutionary things did NWA do all they talked about is killing niggas and drugs ,police they were gangsta rappers to the tee but they were no threat to the *Man* like a Public Enemy .
Sure they spoke on things that shocked the public back than exposing the violence in there neighborhood in a way that was never seen before but maybe I'm just seeing a revolutionary act as something positive done like Public Enemy instead of what i view as a negative i.e NWA

SMH at this guy .... wtf are you smoking ... nigga just fucked his whole arguement over with the bolded. how was what nwa did negative ... they shined a light on inner city violence, drug use, police brutality etc etc AND GOT THE ENTIRE NATION AND OTHER COUNTRIES TO TAKE NOTICE

and if you really wanna get down to it ... i wont put nwa ABOVE public enemy ... chuck d was essential to hip hop no doubt .. but public enemy didnt do much more good things for the world than nwa did .... easy e gave so much to charity that president bush mistakenly invited him to the white house for a dinner without knowing who he was. nwa had a whole division of the fbi formed just to follow them ... this eventually became the "hip hop police"

how can you say you know more about hip hop than me when i have to keep pointing out all these facts about hip hop that you should know if you know about hip hop?? ol "i just dont think they are" ass nigga. if you knew anything about hip hop you would know that sometimes even groups that you dont like get credit for shit because thats how shit fell in place. niggas dont fuck wit hammer like that but you gonna sit here and tell me he wasnt the first rapper to go diamond and stand up to east cost heads who didnt want rap to go pop??? ....mc hammer solidified hip hop in the american market place .... after hammer there was no more doubt that companies should invest more into rappers. everbody and their mom started getting deals after hammer went diamond. that doesnt mean we like hammers music ... but we aint gonna deny the truth either

LOL
