interesting theories but the actual truth is...

KB changed his original number 24 to number 33 in high school out of respect for his pops who also wore 33. but when he went to the lakers, that number was already retired(kareem), and some other scrub on the lakers roster(george mccloud) wore 24 at the time. so he chose 8.

8 was the sum of 143, the number he wore at ABCD camp.

he just switched back to his original number. no big deal

i wanna see footage of him wearing 24 back then. thing is hes prolly come up with shit to say to throw you off. if he come out and say straight up he wanna be the first dude to get two jerseys retired you know the backlash he would get?

he kinda got his image back so im sure at this point in his career he wouldnt ruin that with a bold statement like that. i mean thats just me puttin myself in his shoes as well i think that makes sense. either way you could be right but im not buyin that shit no offense lol
