Ed Gein, the guy who made human-skinned clothing and furniture, would steal bodies from graveyards and skin them.
Dude made blinds/curtains, furniture covers, bodysuits, masks, leggings, belts, necklaces (teeth and fingernails) etc..
He eventually moved to kidnapping and killing women (2 that they know of) for skin because the dead skin wasn't good enough, he complained of the smell. He liked soft, smooth, fresh skin.
He even once joked about it but no one believed him because he didn't seem like that.
He admitted it was because of his mother. She instilled a lot of ideas in his head about women and he was obsessed with his mother. When she died he wanted to be her and he would find any woman who closely resembled her. He wanted to have a sex change to look like his mom.
They found him mentally insane and he was sent to a mental ward and he eventually died there.
He inspired movies and characters like Texas Chainsaw/Leather Face, Psycho/Norman Bates, Silence of the Lambs//Buffallo Bill and American Horror Story's Bloody Face.
It's disturbing and disgusting but at the same time intriguing and cool, to me.
