this is the same for several vampires in anne rices 2nd vampire chronicles novel "the vampire lestat"

which is kinda a prequel to the movie and book "interview with a vampire"

and it was only one coven of vampires who thoguht this...they lived under a graveyard in paris......

once lestat showed them that all the vampire myths (garlic, crosses, churches) and shit like that was bullshit....they ended up creating the vampire theater that got burned by brad pitt in the movie
