WWE Examiner has just learned from sources close to WWE that the published reports surfacing Monday regarding Hulk Hogan returning to work at TNA and declining an offer from WWE are, in fact, correct. But money was not the root cause of the issue that prevented Hogan from returning "home" to World Wrestling Entertainment.

A source close to individuals in direct talks with Hulk Hogan tells WWE Examiner that creative differences were just as damaging to the negotiations as WWE's "low-ball" offer to get Hogan back in the company.

Although The Rock and Brock Lesnar earn in one match what Hogan would have earned over the course of the 12-month contract he was offered by WWE, Hulk Hogan was reportedly more discouraged by the names of current WWE superstars that the company's creative team had in mind to pit against Hogan for a "farewell run" of matches leading up to April's historic production of WrestleMania XXX.

WWE Examiner learned that Hogan purportedly wanted to work with CM Punk, but WWE felt that Punk's star has now risen so high that the Straight Edge Superstar needs to work a main event, not a nostalgia match with Hogan.

We've also learned that the WWE hasn't given up on a "dream match" scenario that could put CM Punk in the ring with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Industry insiders say Austin would likely prove a much bigger draw than Hogan for WrestleMania XXX because the Texas Rattlesnake has been away from the ring for so long.

Unfortunately for the Hulkster, although WWE definitely wanted Hogan at WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans, the match WWE had in mind was simply not "good enough" for the aging Real American in red and yellow.

The source was not familiar with who the company pitched to wrestle against Hogan, although the rumor mill says it was either Jack Swagger or Fandango.

As of this writing, neither Hulk Hogan nor the WWE have offered official comment on the matter or why talks ultimately fell apart.

Would you have wanted to see Hulk Hogan square off against CM Punk at WrestleMania XXX?

Dirtsheet report...who knows if this is true or not..

some leak memo from WWE

- An internal WWE memo from a few years back recently leaked and stated a few things of interest:

* Vince McMahon no longer wants "Granddaddy of them all" using to describe WrestleMania because he feels it makes WrestleMania feel old and dated.

* Nobody can use the phrase "choke" for a submission move. Undertaker's Hell's Gate move was named Triangle submission hold.

* Producer Kevin Dunn stated that announcers can no longer use the phrase "title changes hands."

* Vince banned the use of terms "five star match" and "match of the year." As part of the memo banning those terms, Vince also wanted all announcers to "stop reading the dirt sheets" with the idea that it influences what they say.

* Stephanie McMahon sent a memo for announcers to never use the phrase "the referee didn’t see it" when a heel is doing something behind the referees back. She wrote that it makes it seem like the announcers are treating the fans like they are in grade school. Stephanie prefers "the referee’s vision was impaired" or "the referee’s vision was blocked." Also, never use the word "hatred" or "hate" when describing a feud and the announcers should never say a talent doesn't care about winning a match.

Some headscratchers there like.

All new WWE contracts reportedly have a morality clause in them. Basically, if a talent has inappropriate photos or videos that can be found online or in print, they will not be signed. They have to sign a deal saying that no such material exists and if it happens to be found, not only will they not be hired but will be blacklisted from the company.

so that probably why hulk couldn't come back

- In 2008, WWE's total revenue from corporate sponsorships was $7.4 million. Now, after 5 years of pushing their PG product publicly and promising sponsors that there would be no more risque TV, the number is expected to hit $20 million this year.

- Triple H has once again sent the directive to re-focus on the WWE tag team division. The plan as he laid it out was to first get some teams ready in NXT to bring to the main roster, as well as take some talented guys on the main roster who officials recognize are underutilized and try and get them going as a tag team. Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel are one example of a new team we may see here soon.

- Tickets for the WWE Hell In a Cell pay-per-view in Miami are not selling at near a sellout pace.

- WWE officials are disappointed and puzzled that Brie Bella isn't getting over more as a babyface. They couldn't understand why there wasn't more sympathy for Brie when Tamina Snuka was beating her up this past week.

- As noted, Vince McMahon made the decision for Cody Rhodes and Goldust to win the WWE Tag Team Titles from Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns on Monday's RAW, instead of Hell In a Cell. Apparently Vince wasn't happy that only heels had titles.

- It's been noted how John Cena is Big E Langston's biggest supporter within WWE. With Cena back from injury already, look for Langston to be featured on WWE TV more. This goes with what was reported in SmackDown spoilers this week.

Thank god haitches has that old school mentality, the tag division is important.

Now, they need to introduce the 'new' kayfabe via social media and make it huge and compelling.

welp Pg is here to stay

and props to Cena for backing Big E

Kinda. They're gonna start moving towards edgy stuff, that's the only way they can get some kind of momentum.

My biggest thing is they NEED to re introduce 'color' in matches. You have a match like eliminaton chamber and NO ONE FUCKING BLEEDS! color creates that emotion, it gives the audience that sympathy, it tugs in those heart-strings. They need that element, which they are sorely missing.

This is like the fourth directive to fix the tag team division. Until they actually fix that shit it's another temporary surge in interest then Vince will kill it.

Tag teams we're never a draw in vince's eyes until the Dudleys, the Hardys, and Edge and Christian and he put them over in a big way. Haitches just needs the stars to align get the right teams together (the sheild, the real americans, and the usos --- at this point the rhodes brothers are an transitional champions/utility team to me) and they desperately need jobber teams (3mb and los materdores I'm looking at you) to shine the winners up.

proof wwe officials are idiots

Because Tamina irrelevant in that division that's why. That's like having snitsky come back and beating the piss out of bryan. The reaction is going to be 'why is this jobber beating up the guy who beat cena'

the fucking booking has taken a serious nose dive. The booking staff has no idea how to book a return anymore. You dont have a heel go over a babyface without them looking like a serious threat beforehand.

BREAKING NEWS: Riot Police to be in HIAC PPV

The Miami Police Department has ordered all its riot police to be on duty October 27 — the night WWE hosts its Hell in a Cell pay-per-view at the American Airlines Arena — in the event of a John Cena victory.

“We have received several anonymous warnings stating that ‘If Cena Wins, We Riot,’” explained Police Chief Larry McCormick.

“We don’t know who these ‘we’ people are, but they sound serious,” he added. “We’re not taking any chances, because Cena almost always wins.”

Cena has been away from the ring for months to recover from a torn triceps, but wrestling pundits expect he’ll have no difficulty defeating rival Alberto Del Rio upon his return.

Riot police have been instructed to be ready with tear gas and rubber bullets for the inevitable moment that Cena kicks out from Del Rio’s finisher at two.
