The following notes should be taken as rumors until further notice

-- According to an unconfirmed report, with Braun Strowman injured for the next 1-2 months, WWE is planning a storyline with Roman Reigns going after the Intercontinental Title as a way to keep him out of the Universal Title picture until at least the next six months.

-- The original idea - before Strowman's injury - was for Reigns to feud with The Miz, after the latter would win the Intercontinental Title from Dean Ambrose at Extreme Rules. However, it's now possible that the Reigns/Miz program could be moved up for that PPV as the event appears to be lacking a major main event calibre match with Brock Lesnar not scheduled.

-- If this happens, the likely scenario for Miz to win the Intercontinental Title from Dean Ambrose is for WWE to have that match take place on an upcoming Raw.

Randy Orton is the latest star to chime in on the recent “….dive” fiasco that’s been making its way around the internet – a discussion he essentially lit a fire under after re-tweeting a post by veteran wrestler and trainer Rip Rogers.

Here’s the original message that was sent into Rogers:

“Every Indy match now: handshake, drawn out move exchange, this is awesome chant, strike exchange, dive no sell Indy strongstyle, dive, more strikes, no sells, dive, flippy floppy sequence, dive, hit everyone with each other’s finisher then Humpty Dumpty we all fall down. Fight forever chant, rinse and repeat until every move is useless and means nothing, dive, take unsafe shot that looks like shit and hurts like hell then roll up finish. Hand shake and hug after match. Everyone’s hands raised. All these guys chant. Go home and type on social media thanking your opponents and company for the match and telling others they should book these guys. ……………dive.”

People were mad of course, and here's Orton sending some ether to those people

“Sorry to the indy marks, indy guys and old timers who do DIVES [that] took offense. Just having a good time over a few drinks in Denmark closing the Smackdown Live tour, while beating Raw in making over 5 million dollars in the last 11 shows. Now I know to some that doesn’t equate to a standing room only crowd of 150 people paying $8 at an armory somewhere, but in the big boy world that’s called putting asses in seats. So enjoy your flips, dives, and 20 superkicks per match. To each their own. I will go ‘dive’ back into my 13th title run and get ready to ‘flip’ when my bank statement comes this month. …..headlock”.

Randy sounds hurt, only thing i got to say is I rather watch 2 guys flipped around the ring then Randy Orton paint drying charisma. Bully Ray going end up knockin that chin off.

Im still confused why WWE style the only way wrestling should be done. It just comes off as older vet who feels offended these guys are getting high rated matches but dont do their style.

NJPW doesn't do that style on the main events either. No company that has ever made money does it. Struggling ass indy companies allow it because its the only way to get talent to show up.

Heaven forbid somebody sell something. These acrobats and ballerinas stay having forgettable matches that are posted for free on YouTube in front of 100 people.

NJPW and ROH I think do a fantastic job at mixing both. Im not talking about high school gyms

Randy makes 10 times what they make, he doesn't give a fuck, I thought that was clear in his post.

I get more so because everybody calls his matches boring on thr IWC so ofcourse he going to knock indy wrestling when he has a open shot where they always get higher reviews and say i get paid more blah blah blah which is true but to knock another style of wresting because your labeled a boring competitor is where thr haterade is pouring out his pores. Come on Orton says he puts asses into seats(currently), who in the hell watches tv, go to shows, and signing into see 2014-2017 Orton???? But like he said he gets paid so thats why he better. WWE would still do the same with indy stylrle wrestling, ill even go as far as to say its the future for WWE style since its currently being incorporated as Already Home said. Everything evolves.

Except its not evolution. The shit they doing today ain't new. TNA was doing it 10 years ago, ECW 10 years before that that super choreographed bullshit isn't some new phenomenon.

Also Orton gets approached by marks at the airport and at the gym where he ends up having to cuss them out. I'm sure the indy dudes don't have to worry about that.

It's another case of people thinking what the dirtsheets and morons on twitter think represent the whole of the fandom. It doesn't.

Also don't overrate this indy shit being incorporated into WWE either because none of the top money guys work that style.

Roman don't

Brock don't

Orton don't

Wyatt don't

Cena don't

Jericho don't

When it comes to those that do, you got Rollins and maybe Styles and that's about it. The rest are undercard dudes

If people cared about moves niggas wouldn't be walking out on 205 Live. Most of the people who are going to mark for that goofy indy shit probably don't even watch 205 where the style they claim to love is most prominent.

205...better yet cruiserweights get walked out on because they are poorly built and have no zing to their name they just a bunch of guys that will never get pushed as a top guy while as a cruiserweight anyway.

80s-bulky slow but simple style wrestling

90s- hardcore and technical

Late 90s and early 2006- great technical, physical quicker paced wrestling with more "violent" elements to it.

2010-14 Slow start of more infulenced indie style with guys Bryan and Punk

Bro if wrestling hasnt evolved in your eyes i dont know what to tell you.

Yeah those guys you named dont because most were raised in the E machine style. Seth, AJ, Ziggler, Dean(dives and launching), even in the cruiserweight scene Neville and Aries. Joe more toned down but he def has elements. Not too mention damn there eveybody on the roster doing some kind of dive out to the ring like the indie wrestlers randy speaks of. WWE style is still mandatory but they def mixing more and more indie shit with it. Not sure why your hell bent on knocking a style that clearly is here and growing.

Y'all would hate the flippy floppy with no selling style in WWE, Don't act offended cuz Orton said it.

Yes wwe has Incorporated it these days but there's a balance. That balance is obvious when u look back at aj style's 2016 or Seth's 2015 for example, or the cruiserweight classic. Bunch of high spots but great story telling, that's the difference. Randy dem mocking the cats just doin shit for no rhyme or reason, just to say they did a front flip into a Tombstone
