But you are not taking about Isis or the KKK, or other extremist groups ...

You are talking about "normal people", who just happen to be different than you...

"Normal people" who probably have more in common with you than they have differences.

How can you honestly paint every Mexican, or Muslim, or LGBT individual with the exact same brush?

How is that different than a soccer mom painting every black person with the exact same brush?

And more importantly, how can you condone violence and discrimination against "normal people" ... simply because you choose to believe they ALL condone violence and discrimination against you?

I'm just going by what I see.

In no way is that intended to imply that "everyone" in those respective groups thinks the same way.

It's just my opinion.....based on what I've observed........that most of them probably have the same train of thought.

Never condoned violence or discrimination against any of those groups either.

I respect that.

I just think anything that implies this "they deserve it" logic; is problematic.

They don't.

No one does.

And to be clear, Trump HAS championed extreme rhetoric and policies perpetuating discrimination against multiple groups of people.

I personally cannot condone the things that he has said and proposed regarding those groups; regardless of my "opinions" about them.

I don't condone it either, but I realize a lot of what he's saying is just what you said............rhetoric.

Just telling his base what they want to hear.

For the most part, even though he won't admit it.......all he's going to do is reinforce policies that are already in place.

At least as far as illegal immigration is concerned.

Despite his executive order giving asylum to illegals already over here, the Obama Administration has been actively deporting the criminal element of illegals out of the country.

All Trump's going to do is continue what Obama started (besides the asylum part) and try to take credit for it.

I do think there will be some measure of what you described ...

But I disagree with the notion that Trump's Adminstration will just be "a continuance of Obama's Adminstration".

That's an interesting opinion.

Also ... as you mentioned, that is just one isolated issue. There are dozens more to consider.

The other issue is that even his rhetoric, has already done tremendous damage domestically and abroad.

Racists and anti-Semites are celebrating Trump's victory:

By the time Richard B. Spencer, the leading ideologue of the alt-right movement and the final speaker of the night, rose to address a gathering of his followers on Saturday, the crowd was restless.

In 11 hours of speeches and panel discussions in a federal building named after Ronald Reagan a few blocks from the White House, a succession of speakers had laid out a harsh vision for the future, but had denounced violence and said that Hispanic citizens and black Americans had nothing to fear. Earlier in the day, Mr. Spencer himself had urged the group to start acting less like an underground organization and more like the establishment.

But now his tone changed as he began to tell the audience of more than 200 people, mostly young men, what they had been waiting to hear. He railed against Jews and, with a smile, quoted Nazi propaganda in the original German.
America, he said, belonged to white people, whom he called the “children of the sun,” a race of conquerors and creators who had been marginalized but now, in the era of President-elect Donald J. Trump, were “awakening to their own identity.”...

The United States today, Mr. Spencer said, had been turned into “a sick, corrupted society.” But it was not supposed to be that way.

“America was, until this last generation, a white country designed for ourselves and our posterity,” Mr. Spencer thundered. “It is our creation, it is our inheritance, and it belongs to us.”

But the white race, he added, is “a race that travels forever on an upward path.”

“To be white is to be a creator, an explorer, a conqueror,” he said.

More members of the audience were on their feet as Mr. Spencer described the choice facing white people as to “conquer or die.”

Of other races, Mr. Spencer said: “We don’t exploit other groups, we don’t gain anything from their presence. They need us, and not the other way around.”...

“Trump and Steve Bannon are not alt-right people,” Mr. Brimelow said, adding that they had opportunistically seized on two issues that the alt-right cares most about — stopping immigration and fighting political correctness — and used them to mobilize white voters.

Mr. Spencer said that while he did not think the president-elect should be considered alt-right, “I do think we have a psychic connection, or you can say a deeper connection, with Donald Trump in a way that we simply do not have with most Republicans.”

White identity, he said, is at the core of both the alt-right movement and the Trump movement, even if most voters for Mr. Trump “aren’t willing to articulate it as such.”

Fixed. You make it seem like Hillary was the ONLY choice.

Besides, we went over these numbers:

46% non-voters>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>3% third party voters.

Trump's former co-author on Trump before the election:

“It’s implicit in a lot of what people write, but it’s never explicit . . . it’s impossible to keep him focussed on any topic, other than his own self-aggrandizement, for more than a few minutes, and even then . . . ” Schwartz trailed off, shaking his head in amazement. He regards Trump’s inability to concentrate as alarming in a Presidential candidate. “If he had to be briefed on a crisis in the Situation Room, it’s impossible to imagine him paying attention over a long period of time,” he said. . . . Schwartz believes that Trump’s short attention span has left him with “a stunning level of superficial knowledge and plain ignorance.” He said, “That’s why he so prefers TV as his first news source — information comes in easily digestible sound bites.” He added, “I seriously doubt that Trump has ever read a book straight through in his adult life.” During the eighteen months that he observed Trump, Schwartz said, he never saw a book on Trump’s desk, or elsewhere in his office, or in his apartment.

Yesterday's Washington Post:

President-elect Donald Trump has received two classified intelligence briefings since his surprise election victory earlier this month, a frequency that is notably lower — at least so far — than that of his predecessors, current and former U.S. officials said.

Please God let him pick Mattis......

Retired Gen. James Mattis "surprised" President-elect Donald Trump by suggesting that he rethink his position on waterboarding, telling him that "beer and cigarettes" were a better alternative in terror suspect interrogations.

Trump said that the advice from Mattis, a front-runner for the defense secretary post in a Trump administration, would weigh heavily on whether he will go forward with campaign pledges to bring back waterboarding and torture in interrogations by the military and the CIA.

Flynn don't want this dude whispering sanity into Trump ear, that's why this is taking so long
