50k wud be a good look, these days selling a 100k first week means u have a portion of the white mainstream audience behind u

Im not, I know for a FACT that every black rap fan aint bumpin there shit.

That's decent numbers. The cd wasn't announced that long ago and the ink is barely dried on those dudes contracts. That's pretty good. It's not like they had 6 months of promo and it was initially supposed to be DJ Drama hosted mixtape anyway. That album is for the streets, not the charts. Most importantly, there's some good music on it.

Ross should of just focused on Wale first, he has something to work with there.I don't know about no Pill or Meek Millz, them niggas will be a tough sell. Might get the Oschino and Sparks treatment.

So we gonna act like rick ross's name shouldnt do respectable number??

doesnt matter if Ross name is attached to it

Triple C's only sold a little over 12,000 first week in 2009

Ross sold 176,000 first week in 2011 with Teflon Don

both had Ross name attached to the projects however only diference was one was a Rick Ross solo project and the other was not.

Ross as a solo artist will always do better numbers than Ross in the background, the numbers back it up.

However seeing as his group effort is about to sell 3 times as more than his last project that is a good look and a step forwards, this will only mean Ross will do bigger numbers on his next solo project.

^^This

I seen a couple post in the who was running shit thread say MMG was running shit now sooooo.....

You mean black elitist on the IC?!

We all know the truth, MMG aint running shit. I was just glad to hear some new Wale. And he ripped it. But the double standard is approaching, Tyler the Creator sold about the same amount and that was considered a flop so lets see what the usual Ross stans say about their Massa not pulling 100k cause at this point, his name should at least pull that much on an album. Am I wrong?

Naw i see what Ross is doing, he introduced MMG as a family, a brand, now he'll push them as solo artists....you gotta establish a brand

someone liek Jayz doesnt need to do that as the ROC brand has already been established due to Jays past ventures

Ross doesnt have the luxury of concentrating on one artist at a time, this aint rocnation where u can wait 5 years to put out an album, he himself is still coming up and establishing his own legendary status

smh at all the ross stans who were clowin banks

Find a quote where any Ross fan said This album would do huge numbers? Are we still pretending like we don't know Why this album did 50k first week? Come on now bruh most of y'all probably thought this shit was gonna do Triple C numbers(even though that album was also a banger). You know why them gunit nerds got clowned, they still think 50 going platinum on his next album.

Man, we all know damn well aint nobody else on MMG except Wale will be putting out an album. Stop kidding yourself. Those other niggas wont generate enough interest to put out an album. Pill and Meek even sound alike.

and i'm not sure where any ross fan or anyone thought this wud do huge numbers? point out where this was said?

when u think of huge numbers u dont think of rick ross

ross dont appeal to white folk like jay, kanye and em,

ross is a black rapper who's fanbase consists largely of black people - look at the demographics at his shows, u'll hardly see more than 3 white people

So now the race card is pulled out. Ross by now is a gold rapper, which is very respectable in this age. The race card doesnt work.

Considering the type of music he makes and the type of people he makes it for, he shoulda done way better than his first week numbers

This. Similar to what Ruff Ryders did in the late 90's. They released Ruff Ryders Vol. 1 after X's first two multi-platinum albums, but the compilation did a fraction of X's sales (it went Platinum, but it was still small in comparison to X's numbers). The compilation went hard in the streets though as "Down Bottom", "Jigga My Nigga", and "What They Want" were all over the radio similar to how MMG has multiple tracks on the radio.
