I'm thinking the "powers that be" actually thought that the electoral votes would be split 50/50 down the line, it would all come down to Florida...and they'd be able to somehow manipulate the results in Romney's favor.
The Senate results for Florida are in, the House results for every district in Florida are in..................but the presidential results for Florida still aren't in yet???
