There are alot of things the guy could do. He could shoot deep half gaurd, he could use the underhook to get off his back, use it to regaurd.

Its more imprtant for the guy on bottom NOT to have an underhook, than it is for DU to have the underhook himself. If that makes any sense.

If I get an underhook from there, I'm usually using it to get to a wrestling situation on a single leg. If I'm going against a wrestler thats better than me, I try to shoot X-gaurd

I mean, I can see how someone smaller would benefit by training against someone bigger, but I can't see how it helps a bigger person to train with smaller opponents.

Technique wise I guess it might help, but it seems like a potential hindrance more than anything.
