I've been grinding trying to get this reading done for my first cert in May...Gonna knock out the A+. hopefully someone will hire me, get some experience, then Security+ next

good luck. look for a helpdesk job..which will give you experience. try the geek squad or something similar

Appreciate that. I've been applying for some help desk positions, the ones I applied for were looking for someone with A+.

no doubt. one thing i used to do way back in the day before i had my A+, i would put A+-trained on my resume. As long as you can demonstrate the skills, they will overlook the actual cert requirement. Most of the time anyway.

Still ain't got back on my shit yet lol. All I've been doing man is watching TV, drinking liquor, and browsing the internet. I ain't shit y'all :D

You can do that when you making that kinda money lol

Almost where i wanna be with this home lab, few more pieces i need and ITS ON

at the gig i got they have me working on SAP implementation. I'm gettin the grasp of it pretty quick, it's hard to imagine databases being hard lol. Pretty much formattin shyt in Excel spreadsheets and importin it all into the SAP ERP system so it'll all be under one umbrella. This shyt is fckin easy to me though, I thinkin about gettin some books in SAP and specializin in databases so i can capitalize off this experience.

I hear ya. My dream is to act, and have my own movie production company. I feel investing and studying this Cisco will bring enough money to make this happen.

Consulting huh? So you're going to be like Don Chedele in the show House of Lies huh? lol You should read the book of the same name. They are grimey, but it's bread involved.

I'm thinking of moving to the A for my acting career. Are there a lot of jobs for network engineers down there?

Yeah the CISSP is a must if you trying to make it in security. That's one of the things that got me this job. It's a requirement for security for the most part.

With the right experience and credentials you'll be good in any large city. But if you serious about the acting thing though, realistically the only place for you to go is LA. You can be a network engineer and act on the side. At least you won't be broke and struggling while you do it like a lot of actors lol

oh yeah..i got the gig i interviewed for down in GA. now i'm about to do networking full time. I want to be able to do some of this shit in my sleep. CCIE bound..

Where you live at now? GA is mad cheap compared to east coast cities. You could save mad bread. Congrats on the job.

I thought you already had a full time gig though...

I'm in Raleigh. Yeah the cost of living is comparable between the 2. I had a full time gig but it was system administration..not too much networking. Needed to make a change overall and wanted to get into networking full time. plus i'm making more guap so its all good.
