motivation: i work with a dude who has 4 CCIE's...ive never met him in person. He works from home in ohio. dude has many BIG clients he works for, and only leaves his house if there is a deployment of 10k phones or something major like that. dude told us that he gets paid to be on call by these big corporations so flying down to work with us would be losing money for him.

thats $$ right there.

ON my 3rd month at the hospital, it's pretty good and I'm learning tremendously....just still not able to build enough money to pay my debts. Looking to:

1.) part-time remote job

2.) Finally stop BSing and go freelancing

Do anyone think getting Network+ would be beneficial for me. I have A+, Security+ and a Cyber Security & Information Assurance degree.

make it easy on yourself. start with cutting down on your liabilities (cable bill..cell phone etc) all the shit u can live without. less stress that way..then go freelance

So I'm considering switching careers and getting into computer science. I'm leaning towards the path of information security. I did some researching and have been learning Python with some online tutorials. Also found a bunch of other resources that will help me. But I'm not sure whether I should go to a local college to grab a degree or should I just teach myself the way I am and go straight for experience. I know you don't necessarily need a degree, I assume it would better in the large scope of things, but is the expense of extra student loans worth it? Right now I'm doing decent for myself so it's not like I'm living check to check. Anybody have any insight on the matter? Any opinion would be appreciated.

if i knew back then before college what I know now...id skip going and going into debt with student loans. self study and pass exams. if you can swing a course at a technology center that focuses on what you want to learn then cool.

only thing im glad i went to school for is 1. fucking a ton of bitches..and 2. making some life long friends

Two different tutorials. Youtube has a channel full of video taped MIT courses, one playlist aimed at computer science and programming.

Then another one I found to be more simplistic and straight to the point was on a website called TheNewBoston. This has a lot of information not just on python but other computer related stuff.

thenewboston.org/tutorials.php

Here's a search on python based courses:https://www.coursera.org/courses?orderby=upcoming&search=python

Here another good link:http://www.learnpython.org/

You guys should check this link out>>>>http://it-ebooks.info/. It has a lot of it/programming books for free download. Lynda.com has some good videos too. I use both of those to help me with my web development courses.

I'm in my second year of CC for my Comp-Science degree. However, I suck in math and I'm doing developmental classes for it. Please wish me luck. Trying my best to make it.

I've continued grinding and had an interview for a nice IT position yesterday. Hopefully I will get the position. Say a prayer for ya boy!

Alright I'll try to talk to my counselor and see. Thanks for the heads up man.
