So we should give praise to those who can't walk a flight of stairs without stopping 4 times?

Fat people are the reason everyone else pays more for things. They drive up the cost of gas, the cost of medications, and just overall healthcare costs in general.

They also end up working less and taking more out of health insurance. They're 6% of the American population, but use up 20% of total healthcare spending.

Everyone else is literally pulling their weight.

Fat people like Lil Loca need to be banned from elevators and forced to walk up stairs for the betterment of society.

Fat people like her cost the healthcare system $190 billion per year in spending.

The entire GDP of a country with the size and population of Pakistan doesn't cover that cost.

Fat-shaming is not only something that should not be rebuked. It should be actively encouraged as a patriotic act, and an act considered for your own future financial well-being.

This post is quite simple minded and idiotic.

Fat shaming does not help anyone into losing weight. It does not help anyone to be healthy. A new study published last week shows that fat shaming ads actually cause people to gain more weight than losing it. Therefore, fat shaming simply satisfies your own selfish and cultural biases. It takes positive, helpful campaigns instead of guilt tripping, which fat shamers like doing.

Also, a stance against fat shaming is not a matter of of trying to make people feel bad for losing weight/being a vegan/exercising. There are a lot of fat people who enjoy exercise immensely--I enjoy biking and boxing. There are a lot of fat people who are vegan. There are a lot of fat people who do all kinds of things.

And honestly, if you really wanted to stop people from being fat, you'd protest the cheap food processing and expensive health food prices that keep making Americans fatter. Ask why corporations continue to sell cheap food and sell organic food that is more expensive to buy.

SMH @ y'all dumb asses.

Actually, a study by the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, has shown that: "50 percent of people surveyed did not recognize childhood obesity as a problem and 75 percent of parents with overweight or obese kids did not see their children as having a weight issue". Other tactics methods aren't working b/c people don't recognize the problem. And the cost to healthcare is increasing dramatically, indicating the problem is only getting worse. By 2030, obesity will cost the American healthcare system upwards of $500 billion/year.

Palpating for pulses, cysts, fibromas, etc., are increasingly harder with obese people. Lung auscultation becomes harder b/c the lung sounds sound further and fainter. Same with heart sounds and GI sounds. Anesthesia administration and inhalant pharmacotherapies are increasingly difficult to administer b/c they get absorbed in the fat.

- The extra weight in obese patients puts a strain on joints, particularly knees. And the overall risk of cancer increases in obese patients. Endometrial carcinoma and obesity are already proven to be directly correlated with one another. And there's an increased risk for polycystic ovarian disease.

- Only 5-8% of obese adults have a mutation on the gene that regulates fat stores (the OB gene). And not a lot of people have Cushing Syndrome, or some other ACTH-secreting pituitary adenomas, or hypothyroidism.

- Obese patients are more likely to have atherosclerosis, and is a contributing factor to Type 2 Diabetes mellitus.

- Obese patients have restricted lung disease...a decreased capacity to breath air into the blood from the lungs.

- Ischemic heart disease is higher in obese patients.

- Obese people are more likely to get cholesterol gallstones.

- Obese people also at risk for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.

- Obesity also contributes to breast cancer rates in men, b/c of higher estrogen levels.

So, while the methods you subscribe may have an effect, they are ultimately null if the people don't even recognize they have a problem.
