i feel this album will be a cult classic in time i think it will go down as a classic. reasonable doubt wasn't a classic when it first dropped.

It's funny you bring that up. I was 16 when RD dropped and like some fans today with Kendrick, I was screaming up and down that it was Classic but many told me to wait and that it would take time. Time was on my side. Some albums hold up, some don't, time is truly the only judge to me. "RD" got 4 MICS from The Source original and again Time went on and more people appreciated it. For this album though he has the reviews going for him and the album will go Gold for sure, Plat I don't think he can get there cause I don't see a lot of singles for this album, but it's looking to hit north of 600k so that's J Cole numbers basically which is very good for this era. It truly is a body of work and this is why I like it. It very well make take a "Reasonable Doubt" route to Classic status in the fact he will release more albums and most everyone will probably feel "Good Kid, Maad City" is his magnum opus.

definitely im a 80's baby just like yourself. i just feel like this album is a continuing story to everything that he's put out previously and works well together its a well thought out album it was few song that didn't hit me right away the more i played the album the better it got with time and when i compare to everything that come out in last few years or so to me it stands out as something unique and different the same way with food and liquor. it just one of those albums that i feel with get that much better with time.

I listened to it a little bit but I really don't get what the appeal is. Can someone explain it to me?

you shouln't have to be convinced to like some shit bruh ...if you aint feeling it ..it may just not be your cup of tea

I'm not looking to be convinced, I'm simply curious to know why people are feeling him. It shouldn't be a tough question since so many people here seem to be fans.

whats the desire?

Curious to see what I'm missing.

Nothing ... I Mean If You Listen And It Dosen't Resonate With Your Taste Your Really Not Missing Much ..

How can that be? Obviously people are getting something out of it if it's getting so much acclaim and every one is praising it.

Let me put it another way; what makes this album unique or more technically skillfull than what's currently being put out?

Thank you... I pointed that shyt out earlier and niggas wasn't gettin it

We can all agree that Ross ain't that hot. He was never the main dude on hip hop. I always had Wayne above him, eminem, Kanye, drake.
