why it suck? .... in your opinion

Im not sayin it sucked. But the shit hes talkin about is the same shit weve heard from countless rappers. Lamar has been comin with different subject matter for a while now. So to hear about compton over and over again gets old. I wasnt feeling about half the beats either. It didnt have that TDE sound that i loved from his earlier joints. It was more generic than his other shit. Dont get me wrong, its a good album but its not on the level of his other shit. but what do you expect when Dr. Dre is in control. And the track w mary j and drake are wack.

Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe...

Only one song I don't fuck with. He earned my money. Dope ass cd

Which track? Just curious

wasn't feeling real or the track with Mary j. Everything else knocks

lol i guess to each is own cuz i like the Mary J. track and the real song. But that goes to the diversity of a good album. There may be songs that u may not like and somebody else does. Its songs where you make like the more u listen to the album.......That Janet Jackson sample was SICK on poetic justice.

If anything I think the verse on "m.A.A.d. city" after the beat change is him on dust - the way his voice is all high and twitchy.

As for the story, this is how I understand it after a few listens:

*SPOILERS I guess*

I'm not convinced that Sherane actually set him up, I think he just got caught up in the wrong hood and some guys beat on him for being on their turf. This plays into the "good kid, m.A.A.d. city" theme as he's just bein a good kid goin to see a girl, but the culture of the city drags him into some foul ****. The timeline on the album isn't straight forward and took a few listens to understand but IMO it goes like this:

Tracks 1-11 are set when Kendrick is around 17/18.

First half of Track 1 - Sets the scene of his relationship with Sherane, this goes on over the course of a few months

Tracks 2-6 - Really just sets the scene of Kendrick's life in Compton and him hanging with "the homies". Seens to happen over the course of an afternoon - his friends pick him up, they freestyle, they screw around for a while and think they are awesome.

Last verse of Track 1 - Kendrick heads over to Sherane's house

Skit at the end of Track 6 - Gets jumped

Tracks 7 & 8 are covering his thoughts to getting jumped

Track 9 - Goes back to the homies and they get messed up.

Skit/Track 10 - They go back to shoot the guys that jumped Kendrick, but one of the homies ends up getting killed

Track 11 - Kendrick regrets getting dragged down by the m.A.A.d city and vows to get out of it and inspire others to do the same.

Track 12 - This is Kendrick achieving his goal and is set in the present IMO.

Skit - "I'll be back in 15 minutes" - a throwback to the very start of the album - having seen how things unfold it adds extra power to this.

Sing About Me...

1 verse from the perspective of a now-dead friend telling Kendrick to tell his story, 1 verse from the perspective of Keisha's sister angry at Kendrick for exposing Keisha's story of her death, and 1 verse from the perspective of Kendrick himself lamenting about his own fear of death and responding to the 1st two verses.

Sing about me, I'm dying of thirst...

^^serious track..

I love how he ends the 2nd verse with Keisha's sister. When she says "I'll prolly live longer than you and never fade away..." And the verse slowly fades out... Genius. I love when artists pay attention to the details.

Yea, that shyt was sick. Another way I interpretted that part was him blocking out her talkin because it was neverending bullshit she was spoutin (defending shyt she knows is wrong). At least, I woulda tuned her out eventually.

Pharrell tweeted this on twitter lastnight....

@Pharrell. @kendricklamar is this era’s Bob Dylan. Masterful story telling. Listen to it, it will elevate you. And just like that music has changed. … @kendricklamar Sick hooks, beats, perspective and zero MSG. Individuality always wins

This album is a banger might even cop 2 copies actually i support K Dot Aftermath bloodline

Bloodline? as in DMX's Bloodline? Really...

What she is saying is, because she sucks Eminems dick and Eminem is signed to Aftermath (Dre's label). She will cop his album, for the simple fact it has something to do with Eminem.

Then why don't i like and didn't buy Slaughterhouse House and Yelawolf albums? who are actually signed to Shady not Aftermath if that was the case? simply because i think their music is wack and they are boring even though they are signed to Shady, co signed by Eminem that don't matter if their music is wack to me

You have a nerve to talkk about anyone d... sucking when you do that for Jay Z more than his own god damn wife Beyonce does the irony of someone like you having the nerve to talk about that when you may as well be Beyonce

I am gonna buy K Dots album cos i liked the album and i really enjoy his album and because he reminds me alot of my fave Artist too and makes the type of Hip Hop i like Emotional and introspective

I can see that as an interpretation too.

I just looked at it like it was in conjunction with the first verse, and how that ending was so abrupt. Whereas the second verse was a way of saying she was dying a slow death and she didn't even know it.

Regardless, any album that has multiple interpretations and has me engaging in stimulating conversation is more than worth my money.
