Just finished the single player. If this had been a movie it would have gone straight to DVD. They need to take some more chances with the next game, a bit of the spark is gone. I'm especially heated at how I tried to go through that elevator section without the patch but right before that I hit a glitch that prevented me from progressing further in the game without downloading a patch.

Santa Monica must of had their B team working on this. As a die hard God of War fan i'm a bit underwhelmed by Ascension, good thing I only rented it.

Game is wack. Story is wack (this is my main criticism because the thing I love most about GOW are the crazy ass stories) compared to other GOWs, fighting is simplified and more fluid (to me), but also more boring somehow. Gameplay really repetitive (like all the GOWs I guess), puzzles easy and simple as fuck. Graphics are dope I guess.

I was playing it for hours bored as shit thinking "when will this game just end?!". Barely worth the rental.

How can you not compare it to the other God of Wars tho? It's not a bad game at all, it's just the weakest one. I don't have a problem with the story.

How can you not compare it to the other God of Wars tho? It's not a bad game at all, it's just the weakest one. I don't have a problem with the story.

I agree except it is better than Chains of Olympus. The thing that I did not like was the fact they did not have any other main weapons and substituted the world weapons of extra weapons which really did not have any advantages in combat. The different elements for the blades was just lazy and I mostly used the fire which its attacks seemed faster and more varied. All in all the game was not necessary though I enjoyed it for what it was, but it could have been a Vita game.

Game is DOOO DOOOOO!!!! Story (or lack there of) is wack, boss fights are corny, combat is faulty, glitch on glitch on glitch, and whole thing is very repetitive. Very unfulfilled upon beating this game nh

The graphics and amount of gore in it is cool but not enough to save it. I mean... I guess I'm going so hard because I've seen what they can do with this series... but still unimpressed. 6.5/10
