I'll pass on neutered "barbershop" talk

Ain't no barbershop apologising for callin women out for egging on a reaction...or tiptoeing around race issues...or shitting on Rick James

Foh

Btw, when he does bring up race, he throws Black athletes under the bus and then will tell the public he "doesn't give a damn."

"The Cowboys are an accident waiting to happen. What can go wrong, will go wrong."

"Chris Carter used to always tell me, Blain Gabbert STINKS."

"Russell Westbrook is the most ruthless assassin....."

"___________ is a sniper of the highest order"

And then he always makes a reference about passing gas and getting a penalty smh

At the end of the day he gets ratings. Never was a fan of first and drama queen when it was skip and stephen a or the current line up with max and stephen a. its a male version of the fucking view and over the top dramatic. But at the end of the day the majority of people watch/complain about it.

ESPN is getting the trash Monday night football games, the sloppy 2nd NBA content and it overpayed for the college football playoff that wouldn't switch games from NYE to NYD which will cost espn millions in potential revenue every other year. They need gimmicks like first and drama queen to make them money to cover the L's. And that show needs a clown like stephen a smith to get as high ratings as it gets.

NBA point is moot cause they get some playoffs games and the NBA finals

And MNF still better than TNF, those are the trash NFL games

NBA point is not moot because for the majority of the year TNT gets better games. Yes the finals are better but those are 7 games max. As far as MNF sure it's better than TNF at times but more often they are trying to pull better games for TNF to get people tuned (look at last weekends patriots texans game). TNF ratings are going up while MNF ratings are going down.

ESPN is screwed because they pay big bucks for a bunch of content but now their return on their investments is getting smaller. I live in CT personally and see how they have had to fire a bunch of people that work there. Not to mention less and less households are keep or signing up for espn to be in their package especially millenials like me with our own cribs buying basic cable/hbo packages and netflix only not full cable.

TNT may get better games but the playoffs and the Finals get the most views so that's a win for ESPN.

They can try to get people to tuned into TNF but they will always have worst game cause not everybody has the NFL network and it doesnt always come on network TV.

You don't get it. ESPN paid way too much for the access to the NBA finals and playoffs. The finals get ratings but the margin of profit and revenue is slim due to them overpaying for content like the NBA finals. And really it's only 7 possible key games that get big ratings on abc for the NBA finals. As far as the rest of the playoffs TNT had bigger games like warriors vs OKC where ESPN is paying for the boring Eastern Conference playoff games.

As far as TNF they are getting better games than MNF. The split rating of CBS/NFLN doesn't matter to ESPN who is getting shittier games. And the NFL 4 pm and 820 pm eastern Sunday games are also 9 times outta 10 better than Monday night football.

Out of all the content you just mentioned between the NFL and NBA the only thing that really has premier value over competitors content is the NBA finals. And that is due to no other company paying for the finals. TNT basketball pre NBA finals trumps ESPN. Fox, CBS, and NBC get better games hands down than ESPN does on MNF.

I never liked this dude, but for some reason he's blowing up. He's got all these commercial endorsements and tv/movie cameos. I can't for the life of me figure out why. Dude is terrible.

I think ESPN overpaid for the NBA because fox was trying to get some games since they have never done a NBA game on the fox network before. Fox actually came up with the idea of doing Saturday night games but who's doing them now? Smh it's espns own doing for why they are financially strapped for years to come. They better hope the NBA ratings this year are far better than when lebron came to the heat because that's when the nbas popularity reach higher levels since the Jordan years on NBC

I don't see this strapped for cash thing. Is espn still not owned by Disney?

In Nutshell the revenue for ESPN is going down and the cost to keep talent and content is soaring way up. So Disney being a big ass company that owns espn is like fuck this lets fire employees and let go of big on air people so are costs are down. Now read below for a slightly more detailed answer.

At the end of the day in conglomerates like this where Disney owns ESPN there is huge pressure for ESPN to preform well financially for Disney which helps the value of Disney.

There is a sharp decline in cable purchasers so ESPN is loosing thousands of homes a month as people shift toward netflix and slingbox and cutting digital cable packages. So they are getting less money from subscribers. At the same time They are being forced to pay more for valued sports programs as sports is the best reality tv ever.

The issue is fox and other networks purposely bid higher to force espn to pay more to keep what they had (MNF and basketball Sunday baseball as well). But unless they have the the Cavs or Warriors or Thunder NBA ratings overall are falling. For the monday night football games they are getting shit games and less people are watching, but again they paid much more for the last contract. All this forces them not to be able to raise ad prices as advertisers see the sinking ratings as well.

In corporate America big companies like Disney aren't going to go out of their way to bailout ESPN they are only going to fire the average joe employee and let big named execs and on air talent walk.

I keep telling folks that the common man, not cpu geeks, are figuring out and shifting to streaming tv online. 5 years tops, all of that shit is going crash.

Internet service will be fine for a second but ppl will find an easy way around that too.

These cable companies are smart for enforcing 2 year contracts. But it's only a matter of time.

I got this high speed internet/tv package from comcast that i swear is for 20 somethings like me. I got high speed internet and about 10 to 15 hd channels and then hbo. And then in 2 months i am going to threaten to cancel and they are gunna give me the 2nd year the same as this last year.

Then on top of all that shit i get live espn and fox sports 1 shit via streaming legally through my childhood accounts on my parents shit who have the full package at they crib. And i am going the legal route. But like you said more and more average joes trapping out the bandwith and getting everything i have through underground channels and just paying for high high speed internet.

Rob Parker asked the Lions coach if he wishes his daughter married a better defensive coordinator.....Joe Barry, the Lions Defensive Coordinator, was married to the coach's daughter at that time
