"Men lie, women lie, numbers don't." - Hov

Not to mention almost everyone that matters in the rap game love Em and rate him and his body of work as one of the greatest. Y'all niggas on the IC can hate all you want but the REAL world says Shady is a monster. Y'all need to wake the fuck up and stop hatin on the homeboy just coz he has some stupid ass Stan followers like ShadyTeam that ruin everything for the nigga....hate on the Stans, not on Em.

So much negative energy up here in the IC for real .... instead of looking for reasons to hate (specially dumb ones like 'hes a cracker' or 'only white ppl bump him') look for something to like and you will find what everybody else in the rap game and around 90million people around the world have found. One of the dopest MC's to ever pick up the mic. Period.

Eminem one of the GOAT

Peace out.

okay not this is some real talk.

but this

thats just stannery

Thats exactly what im talking about. Ppl take his love too far instead of being open minded and sayin he 'one of' the greatest instead of simply the best coz that shit just makes ppl mad and starts all this Stan accusations n shit.

n i feel wot u sayin, Em is an easy dude to hate on, he be clownin a lot but his music is hard to hate man, you gotta be a bonafide hater to discredit him.

Em's nice but like a few people stated earlier he might get hate from people on here because of his fans. I haven't listened to any of his music since his 3rd album because his gimmick of dissing pop stars for no reason and putting out wack singles is stupid. When I first heard of the guy I really respected his word play and skill so I overlooked some of the stupid shit he talked about. But it seems like instead of getting more insightful the dude got goofier and started doing extra stupid stuff to get promo.

Then all his so called fans talking about how other emcee's aren't as dope as him because he talks about real stuff and other cats are fake. You could tell 75% of dudes fans never listened to or will listen to any other artist but him. But his fans have the balls to talk shit about something they know nothing about besides him. That is so damn corny it isn't even funny. Even he said if he was black he would have sold half of the albums he has sold. He knows why he is the most popular and admits it a lot but his own fans try to act like it isn't true.

Even if that was true then he would still be in the top 3 best selling rappers of all time with Pac and Hov.

Just so you know.

But other than that i agree, Stans have made him look much worse than he is. But dude listen to his albums....the gimmick u sayin he has of dissin pop stars n clownin has been cut down majorly....i mean in all his albums it was only ever 2 or 3 songs dedicated to that shit the rest were all relatable content on the most part.....its easy to put a stereotype on homies based on singles but that shit is wwaaaaayyy off the mark.

Lolhuh? Your singles are suppose to get people to buy the album. If he's releasing bullshit songs like We Made You as singles, why would I even check for his album? .... That doesn't even make sense.

Also, 2 to 3 horrible songs would ruin the album. If he does that every album, then his catalog is trash.

Exactly! He knew what would get the attention of the fair weather fans and that is why he did those stupid songs as singles. It was just too corny for me to take because he dissed people who he knew either wouldn't retaliate or if they did it would be soft. I agree on his first couple of albums I would just skip over that wack shit but then i started to see that this was his way of getting attention and sales. It just seemed to me that he looked at Hip Hop as a fucking gimmick and not that serious of a thing to him.

Niggas mad the whiteboy is more than likely better than they're favorite rapper. I use to be a brain-dead hater until I gave homie a listen. He's really dope. Only Jay and Nas are above him as a better overall artist.

Nah homie you lost the plot. He releases those singles to make cake. First and foremost he caters to the biggest money market, ie white teenagers. So he makes comedy diss tracks that make him sell his albums like fire and numbers dont lie. You also have to remember he did that shit when he was younger. The older more mature Em has stopped doing that to an extent.

But what i mean by stereotyping is that anybody that has listened to his body of work knows Em is much more than just a corny diss rapper.....

and smh ..so if an album has 15 tracks and 13 of them are classics and 2 are bad you gonna come out n say the artists entire catalog is trash?!?! That shit makes no sense to me

why not? I can dislike Eminem for whatever reason I want. He's not a hard person to hate, as observed by many celebrities.

It's his music that is hard to hate. you actually have to be a hater to think dude can't spit.

But he's still a goof.

Maybe I misunderstood but I thought we were supposed to keep this to just the music since these are artists we're talking about.

Do you actually know Eminem? 'Cuz if not how can you actually say any of the shit that you've said about him?

All around that same level of artistic ability. Don't put dude on a pedestal.

He said that on White America about being black he would've sold half. White America is my favorite Em song because he goes in talking about some real ass shit but lets be real about most of the guys fan base Mr. Cole. You know that Em wasn't being too truthful when he said he would've sold half because he wouldn't have sold that many. His favorite artist who is Redman hasn't had an album that equal up to half the amount of one of Em's worse. The dude wasn't and isn't stupid by any stretch of the imagination when it came to marketing himself. He knew what would sale and he got super lucky hooking up with Dr. Dre and working with people that would let him say what he wanted to say. He Bleach blond his hair and wore contacts because he knew that was the all american look. He talked about Pop stars and shit because he knew that there was a large demographic of white kids who hated them, he talked about raping his mom because there was a large demographic of whites kids who hated there parents, he talked about being bullied because there was a large demographic of white kids who got bullied, he talked about doing a bunch of drugs because a lot of those white kids that related to the other shit was doing those exact same drugs he rhymed about.

The dude is nice on the mic but he really played to his demographic big time unlike a lot of the other white emcees who came before him and that will come after him. The difference with a lot of those white cats that came before him was the way they kind of swayed more toward what black folks was doing. Em talked about being a white kid getting bullied and copein' like a lot of white kids would do. Like the Beastie Boys and 3rd Base for instance. 3rd Base was kind of more down with how black folks got down while the Beasties mixed rock and rap which made them more popular. I will never say Em is wack or that people can't relate to some of his songs but his demographic relates more to his songs than everybody on earth relating to it. There are plenty of dope emcees that talk about struggling when they were young and everything else but a lot of Em's fans try to act like he is the only person to do such which just isn't the case.

the bold ones are not even up for debate.

they are venomous spitters but as overall artists you saying they on par with Em?? Nah...

and even the likes of Talib and Mos Def are limited in their game homie...they are lyrical and can flow like theres no tomorrow but OVERALL artists means more than just technical ability. Can they write songs as well, be as diverse as Em, produce as well and appeal to as many people as Em does? No. Period. Yet they are incredible rappers.

So its not a case of putting Em on a pedestal, its more a case of subjective analysis based on what the question was.

I totally agree with almost everything you said. We are saying the same stuff but in different words in many ways bro.

Look at this way...Em did play out his demographic perfectly but didnt say...Pac do the same?? He talked about the ghetto, the projects, ladies being disrespected, street violence, thugs, makin money etc etc......basically things that are more prevalent in black culture at that time and around LA....

All successful rappers have done that to perfection when it comes down to it, only Em was the only one that targeted the white demographic predominantly so he stands out for it. Im 100% sure some black ppl relate to Ems lyrics the same way some white people can relate to Pac's lyrics. It is what it is.

But no doubt Em is not the first person to talk about struggles growing up and he wont be the last but what separates him from some cats is how vivid he painted those pictures and how he told it.
