How crazy would it be if Drake dropped VFT6 on September 24th ? Got dayum I really think the internet would EXPLODE.

That album is his most important album yet, he has to show progression and I still think in order to cement himself he NEEDS his true classic album.

i think Drake low key already dropped a classic. You can hear other rappers with the same sound already like Travis Scott and Mac Miller.

If that nigga wants to change the game, put it up for sale on the website and watch the bank account for the first 48 hours. It's an album so ppl are going to pay money for it.

Why go through a label at this point. He should have done that on his first album. Now it's a sure bet more than ever so I don't get why he doesn't do it. He's going to do platinum in the first week anyways so what does he have to lose but gain ? Maaaaannn....

because he already signed the contract lol

Because he's signed a contract mate. As the IC's so-called "business guru" I thought you'd know this. You seen how IYRTITL went from being a mixtape to an album because Cash Money wanted part of that money.

in light of that drake def is far from being business minded lol ... #1 that would of slowed up the process of getting out of his contract ... and #2 he wasnt focused on pushing the culture forward .... by cash money stepping in with thier greed they accidently pushed it forward with putting that piiece of work on paper instead of just letting it go for free and off the books ........ as drake was planning to do ............

Pretty sure IYRTITL fulfilled contractual obligations with Cash Money. Also artists drop "mixtapes" all the time, you telling me he couldn't make an album or EP and sell it on his website ? Why not ? And if the label is the problem why not work out a deal to give his label a portion of the proceeds ? Rappers man SMMFH

you about to learn why signing a contract is very similar to slavery lol #propertybelongstoMASTAH #hegottasayyesFIRST lol

50 Cent dropped mixtapes, some of which were sold in stores, Drake's So Far Gone also had retail copies and this was before he was signed to a major. All I'm saying is I don't see the point in a label anymore. I would just put my music out on my website and call it a day. Aside from maybe international distribution and a label marketing a major artist like a blockbuster movie I don't see the point. Most of that he could do from his own pockets. To each his own tho.

easier said than DONE ... I dont know much about tech but i know he has a business partner who prob has all the $$ and resources to help get his thing rolling .... master p spent 25k alone just getting advice form a lawyer working his way to that indy deal ... most artist coming up dont have access to that kind of cash ... let alone have a legitimate support system ... you need a team ... it aint all just about the music ... if it were it would be alot more folks on that are great @ making music .........

@antarticp Like I said fam, to each his own, if I were an artist that's how I'd go about. As far as contracts go, Drake made 20 mil for 2-3 years straight according to forbes. He's likely in that $50-$60 million range easily. Apple gave him $19 mil for their deal this year - what I'm getting at is he doesn't "need" a major and IYRTITL proved it. The only reason Drake keeps the majors in his pocket is so that they can market him like a superstar across the world over multiple networks. Those are connections he doesn't have especially if he's also trying to do the R&B shit or get noms from the grammies and places like that.

I'm just saying if it were me I'd do it very differently.

hey i agree with you .. i was on some direct to consumer ish before they had a name for it ... just because its the future ... digial product ... versus physical product .... trust im with you ... i was just making sure you are aware that its alot of hard work ... which is the 1 phrase or 2 words most artist are afraid of HARD WORK .... lol #factz ... and it also may never equal platinum or multi plat success ... anything is possible ... so far the only person i believe did it was macklemoore ... and he not only wrapped in the white race but he also pulled in the gay community to pull that off ... id like see how he does overtime to see if those #s go up or go down ... similar to kendrick lamar ...... and since we talking Tech hes a great example cause i dont think he sales any good amount of records @ all ... his bread and butter is merch and touring .....

Drake’s Views From The 6 album is scheduled for released January 6, 2016, according to a video posted in a tweet from Daily Rap yesterday (November 11).

The release date would be in sync with Drake’s line from What A Time To Be Alive cut “30 for 30 Freestyle.”

“But just know it’ll be January in no time,” Drake raps on the Noah “40” Shebib-produced cut.
