It's not the type of music they listen to or that they probably fuck with him. That's all good. The issue I think a lot of people have with the song title versus the content is that the name indicates the song should be some kind of homage to Wu, but the content of the music is actually the antithesis of the type of music Wu has largely put out, and the homage is largely similar to Tupac Back, where the artist for whom the song is named is only honoured by using song titles strung together in the chorus.

I have no problem with the beat or Drake doing a Wu homage. That only bigs up the profile of the Wu, but as a fan of Wu and their style and content and legacy, to see a song like this coming from a big artist like Drake only hurts Wu b/c when someone see's the title and goes to listen to Wu, the expectation for that Drake fan listening to Wu for the first time is largely disappointment b/c the expectation for what Wu is, is different from what Drake presented it to be.

That said, Tupac Back is still a worse song b/c not only did they claim "Tupac's back" but the whole content of the song was largely antithetical to the spirit of Pac's life work. Call Pac what you may, but the violence he largely represented even late into his career was largely aimed at retaliatory efforts against his very real enemies. Whereas, in the MMG song, they were using sayings and 'paying homage' to Pac while rapping about selling crack and shooting niggas in the hood. I don't remember 2Pac ever condoning shooting at niggas in the hood or selling crack to make money and buy rims. He rapped about the necessity of people doing it to survive, but never about the glorification of it as a proud way of life.
