Basically DMX came out and was the hottest nigga in the game for a good amount of years, but once people got past the gimmick, it became obvious that his rhyme skills were very limited and basic. Same thing with 50, all hype in the beginning, then after it died down and people listened to the actual lyrics it was on some ABC type shit.

I see what you saying. However, X made some ridiculous music earlier in his career. I do agree on his lyricism though. He was NEVER considered to be a strong lyricist. He brought emotion and energy to really good music...
