if biggie was still alive, jay-z wouldnt have made it as far as he is now, neither would the south. so lets cut this shit out.

I can see why ppl say this and its certainly possible. My only problem w/ this argument is that Jay only dropped 1 album while BIG (and Pac for that matter) were alive...we never got to see how his career woulda progressed w/ them in the picture. If Jay had dropped 3 or 4 albums b4 they died and only went gold then I would def c/s this theory but we'll never know. For me 1 album isnt enough for me to say that ***such & such** woulda happened over the course of a decade or so.

You're right...Big was grimier and Jay was playboy/pretty boy smooth which explains Jay's deposition on handling shit whenever it got too thick for him..

But on topic..I felt that if Big didn't express the suspect shit in his rhymes he would overpower Jay..but then again Jay patterned his flows after Jaz, Kane and Big and got more longevity out of it to give him that edge.

I was reading the biting thread and started talking with my brothers and we all came to the conclusion that the lines Jay did take from Biggie were used better by JayZ.

Not taking away anything from Biggie he had a great flow and was awesome at his story telling, but he is way over hyped here online.

JayZ just seems to be able to do everything Biggie did and do it much better, I do not understand how anyone can be mad at Jay for taking and improving Biggies rhymes.

It sounds like a legitmate question to ask since a lot of you feel Jay was biting Biggie as evidenced in the biting thread poll.

I asked because of that and because I feel he did do a better Job using Biggie rhymes then Biggie.

Why is it taboo to ask a straight forward question about someone doing something better then Biggie?

Why are you so offended by the question are you a Jay Z hater or a Biggie stan?
