NFL Line Judge Under Investigation for Domestic Violence, Denies Wrongdoing

NFL line judge Carl Johnson -- the former head of officiating for the league -- is under investigation for an alleged pattern of domestic violence in Louisiana, though he's adamant the accusations are BS, TMZ Sports has learned.

Johnson's accuser is a 49-year-old woman who told police she and Johnson had been living together in 2016 when the NFL official became aggressive. She claims Johnson first got violent in December and during the incident, Johnson hit her so hard, he busted one of her breast implants.

The woman claims she went to the NFL in March hoping the league could help her out. Unclear what happened next but a few months later, she went to police.

Court officials in Louisiana confirmed the accuser requested a temporary restraining order against Johnson and it was granted. But a request to make the restraining order permanent was rejected at a later hearing.

But it's not case closed ... a rep for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed to TMZ Sports that the case involving Johnson and his accuser is still under investigation.

Sources connected to the case tell us Johnson has denied all allegations of domestic violence and vows to continue to fight the case.

We spoke with the accuser who claims she has photos and audio recordings to back up her allegations.

Of course, in the wake of the Ezekiel Elliott situation -- the league believes it has the right to impose punishment on NFL players and other staff for domestic violence without a conviction in a court of law. Elliott feels differently.

We reached to the NFL to see if it was investigating Johnson -- so far, no word back. But we do know Johnson has been working NFL games. He was the line judge during Monday Night Football in Week 1.

TMZ Sports reached out to Johnson who told us, "No comment."

Flowers don't need to be yelled at at this point, he looks morally defeated. He needs to be moved and given less responsibility. Maybe a move to left guard between Pugh and Richburg. RT is not gonna help now that I think about it...defenses will just shift their best pass rusher over there n he will still be on an island and LEARNING a new position.brett Jones at RG and Hart/Fluker at RT. this team could easily self implode if the HC does not shake somethings up.....QUICK. if giants start the next game w the same oline is a problem on many levels.

NFL investigating official for domestic violence

The NFL is investigating an accusation of domestic violence against line judge Carl Johnson, who was once the league's vice president of officiating.

"The matter is under review under of the league's personal conduct policy," a league spokesman said Tuesday.

All league employees are subject to discipline under the league's domestic violence policy, which establishes a six-game suspension for a first offense. Mitigating circumstances can increase or decrease that game total.

TMZ Sports first reported the allegations, made earlier this year in Louisiana by a woman Johnson was living with. She filed for a restraining order in July, according to a spokesperson for the Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court, but the request was dismissed July 21. The woman has appealed the decision.

A representative for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office told TMZ Sports that the case is still under investigation.

Johnson was the NFL's top official from 2010 to '12 before returning to the field as the league's first full-time official. He dropped full-time status a few years later and was not among the 21 full-time officials announced by the league earlier this month.

Johnson is part of referee Terry McAulay's crew and worked Sunday's game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

Former Bears cornerback Charles Tillman training to join the FBI

Forget unsuspecting NFL wide receivers. The next guy Charles Tillman executes the "Peanut Punch" on might be a fugitive running from the law.

The former Chicago Bears cornerback recently began training to join the Federal Bureau of Investigation, multiple individuals told the Tribune, including a high-ranking law enforcement source who is not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

FBI guidelines mandate prospective candidates for hiring as a special agent must be at least 23 years old but younger than 37 at the time of appointment. Tillman turns 37 on Feb. 23.

"We don't speak about personnel matters," special agent Garrett Croon, a spokesman for the Chicago bureau, told the Tribune.

Tillman earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette before the Bears drafted him in the second round in 2003. He grew up in a military family — his father, Donald Tillman Jr., was a sergeant in the Army — and attended 11 schools from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Tillman not only supports children's charities through his Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation, he also has long been active in military endeavors. In 2010, he spent eight days on a USO tour visit with troops in Iraq and Kuwait. He was selected as the winner of the NFL's Salute to Service award in 2012.

Former Bears coach Dave Wannstedt, who remains a fixture on that Fox show, was aware Tillman was pursuing a job with the FBI.

"First-class," Wannstedt said. "What a guy. Charles Tillman is as good as they come and I had a great time working with him."

Lame ass... RG3 was annoying from the start. As much as I liked us winning it still didn't feel right. To me everyone is at fault for him busting out.

It was the front office fault for getting him in the first place. Not a good scheme fit period. Even back then I was telling everyone they should keep the picks and grab Russell Wilson. SMH

It's Shanahan fault for keeping him in that playoff game. He was already fucked up and Cousins was at least proven to be competent. Instead he fucks his knee on that shitty field for nothin.

It's RG3 fault for just being an all around shitty QB & person. Thought he was untouchable. Couldn't protect himself and never unfucked his horrible progressions/play reading.

Everything about 2012-2014 Redskins football is dumb as fuck.
