Man, I don't feel bad for some of these athletes being stuck in contracts they don't like. The cap goes up every year, so people get more money every year. So if you sign a 5-6 year contract, by the end of it you'll be underpaid. If you're good, and want to get paid fairly for how you're playing, sign short contracts. Do what Revis did to NE. Short term deal with a crazy expensive final year, so they can't franchise tag you. If Antonio Brown/Julio Jones/OBJ etc were FA's every 2 years, they'd make bank on that bidding war. Then once you're on the backside of your prime/career do the long deal, and your talent drop will match the drop of your pay (comparitively).

They won't acknowledge that an upside top that long term deal is a safety net for them to kero getting paid well even if their production slips some (not enough to be cut, but enough that they aren't quite meeting salary expectations)

I hear you, but only the first 3 years are guaranteed anyway. So when you're underpaid,and disgruntled in year 4 with 2 years left on your contract...then what? Racking up on 3 year contracts would be reasonable

Funny how Victor cruz came in n took his thunder...now cruz going through the exact same thing w OBJ

OBJ doesn't have anything to do with Cruz not having a good year since 2012. There's no thunder to steal there

He absolutely doesnt...but cruz was by far the most famous giant n focal point of the offense before OBJ came on the scene..there was ALOT of Thunder to steal..I would rather have them both get Shine but it is what is

He's better than average, but he thinks he's better than he is. Dude's footwork is atrocious and since he has a strong arm he thinks he can make any throw anytime. His O-Line hasn't been that good over the course of his career, but he makes to many mental errors.

Lions also need a consistent running game. That would help him considerably.

He was good once they got Jim Bob Cooter as their OC...they went like 7-1 or something
